Neousys Nuvo-2860VTC Intel Atom x7425E Ultra-Compact Vehicle PCs with M12

Buses, service fleets and patrol vehicles need a computer that starts and stops with the ignition, copes with a vehicle electrical system and talks to cameras, modems and the vehicle bus at the same time. The Neousys Nuvo-2860VTC series answers that with ultra-compact vehicle PCs measuring 206 x 144 x 65 mm, fanless and E-Mark certified, and rated from -40 °C to 70 °C so they can sit outside a heated cab all year.

Inside each one is the Intel Atom x7425E, an Alder Lake processor with four cores and four threads at 1.5 to 3.4 GHz and a 12 W TDP, which Neousys rates at up to 1.5 times the CPU performance of the earlier Nuvo-2610VTC. One DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB, and Intel UHD Graphics with 24 execution units drives a 4K HDMI output and runs light deep learning inference through OpenVINO. Storage pairs an M.2 2280 M key socket for an NVMe SSD on PCIe Gen3 x2 with an internal 2.5-inch bay, and fTPM 2.0 is supported.

The series has two versions, and the difference is power on the Ethernet ports. The Nuvo-2860VTC has four Gigabit ports on locking M12 X-coded connectors, driven by a Broadcom BCM5719 controller, for vehicle networks, switches and devices that bring their own power. The Nuvo-2860VTC-PoE makes all four ports IEEE 802.3at PoE+ outputs at up to 25.5 W each from a 50 W total budget, so IP cameras run from one cable each without a separate PoE switch.

Both versions share two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports with screw locks, a software-programmable RS-232/422/485 port, two isolated CAN 2.0 ports with SocketCAN support in Linux, two isolated digital inputs and five isolated digital outputs. An M.2 B key socket with dual micro SIM takes a 4G or 5G module, and two full-size mini PCIe sockets take Wi-Fi or a second modem. Power is 8 V to 35 V DC on a three-pin terminal block with built-in ignition control. Shock and vibration meet EN 50155:2021 and IEC 61373 Category I Class B for body-mounted equipment, and EMC follows EN 50121 with CE and FCC Class A, which makes these vehicle PCs a good fit for mobile gateways, mobile surveillance and passenger information systems.
