Nexcom EBC 357-E3930L 3.5″ SBC with Intel Atom E3930, LVDS Panel Output and -20 to 60 °C

A multimedia HMI panel or outdoor terminal has to fit a shallow enclosure, drive the display it was designed around and keep running when the cabinet gets cold. The EBC 357-E3930L is the Intel Atom E3930 build with an LVDS panel output in the Nexcom EBC 357 series: a 3.5 inch SBC for embedded designs, rated from -20 to 60 °C.

The onboard Intel Atom E3930 is an Apollo Lake processor mounted on the underside of the board, where the optional heat spreader couples to it, which keeps the top side clear for connectors and suits HMI, gateway and thin-client software. Two DDR3L SO-DIMM sockets take up to 8 GB. For displays, HDMI runs at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz, VGA at up to 1920 x 1200 and an 18/24-bit LVDS panel interface up to 1920 x 1080, so one board can drive a built-in panel and two external monitors at the same time.

I/O covers two Gigabit Ethernet ports on Intel I210-IT controllers with PXE boot and wake on LAN, two USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports, one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port as standard with two more RS-232 ports as an option, 4-in/4-out GPIO and Realtek ALC888S audio headers. Storage is one SATA port plus an M.2 2242 B key socket with a SIM holder. The EBC 357-E3950L pairs the Intel Atom E3950 with LVDS, and the EBC 357-E3930E pairs the Intel Atom E3930 with eDP.

Power is a single 12 V DC input on a 4-pin right-angle connector, with AT or ATX mode set by jumper. The EBC 357-E3930L operates from -20 to 60 °C, stores from -20 to 80 °C and handles 10 to 90% humidity, non-condensing. The board measures 148 x 102 mm, a TPM module is available as an option and Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 and Linux are supported. It carries CE and FCC Class A marks.
