A trackside or roadside node that runs several cameras, a larger detection model and a tracking stage at once needs memory as much as GPU cores, and it still has to sit outdoors in rain and dust. The Sintrones IBOX-600-IP66-ONX16 is the waterproof edge AI computer in the IBOX-600-IP66 series with the most memory and CPU cores, built on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB inside an IP66 aluminium alloy enclosure.

The Orin NX 16GB pairs a 1024-core NVIDIA Ampere architecture GPU with 32 Tensor Cores and an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU at up to 2.0 GHz, with 16 GB of 128-bit LPDDR5. Two NVDLA v2 deep learning accelerators and a PVA v2 vision accelerator take load off the GPU. For lighter multi-stream work, the IBOX-600-IP66-ONX8 uses the Orin NX 8GB in the same enclosure. JetPack with Jetson Linux comes pre-installed on the NVMe SSD, and the manufacturer validates the temperature range in the standard power modes rather than MAXN.

Every external connection is a circular industrial connector: 2.5GbE and GbE on M12 X-coded ports, with RS-232/422/485 serial, CAN FD and three digital inputs with four outputs on M8. HDMI with 4K output and two covered USB 3.2 ports sit on the panels, and this waterproof edge AI computer takes optional 4G or 5G WWAN, Wi-Fi and GPS modules, so the IBOX-600-IP66-ONX16 can backhaul and log position from roofs, masts and vehicles.

Power is 9 to 60 V DC on an M12 K-coded connector with ignition management and over-current, over-voltage, surge and reverse polarity protection. The fanless unit operates from -25 °C to 70 °C, is tested to IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, and is designed to EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 with E-Mark certification. At 1.63 kg and 150 x 135 x 66 mm, the Sintrones IBOX-600-IP66-ONX16 suits rolling stock, smart poles, traffic control and outdoor security.
