Sintrones VDM-101HD 10.1″ Sunlight Readable In-Vehicle Monitor with Front IP66, PCAP Touch and E-Mark

Cab displays on fleet and work vehicles are usually wired by the vehicle builder, and every extra cable is another run to route, secure and troubleshoot. The Sintrones VDM-101HD is a 10.1 inch in-vehicle monitor that takes video, touch and power from one custom DVI-D cable, leaving a single run between the computer and the screen. It is a display only, with no computer inside, so it pairs with a Sintrones in-vehicle computer mounted elsewhere in the vehicle.

The 10.1″ panel runs at 1280 x 800 with 1,000 nits typical brightness, a 1300:1 contrast ratio, 178° viewing angles and a 50,000-hour rated lifetime. Projected capacitive multi-touch is optically bonded as standard and carries anti-glare and anti-fingerprint treatment, with touch reaching the computer over USB through the custom DVI cable. Eight touch keys cover three programmable function keys, the OSD and power, and built-in 2 W stereo speakers and microphones can handle audio prompts and voice.

The VDM-101HD has two video inputs: a single-link DVI-D connector with a Sintrones custom pin definition, and an HDMI port as a secondary input. Sintrones lists its custom DVI cable for the VBOX-3650 series, VBOX-3630 series, VBOX-3123, SBOX-2623 series, SBOX-2603 series and IBOX-500, and offers DVI to six-port combo cables that break out DisplayPort or HDMI, USB Type-A, RS-232, mic-out, line-in and a power jack for computers with those connectors. A push-mount zip-tie kit secures the HDMI cable.

Power is 9 to 48 V DC, through the DVI-D cable or a two-pin terminal block. The VDM-101HD runs from -20 °C to 60 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, and is rated to IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810G for vibration and MIL-STD-810G at 15 G for shock. The front frame is IP66 and the rest IP4X, with CE, FCC Class A and E-Mark compliance, on a VESA 75 x 75 mount at 0.9 kg. We supply it configured and tested with the matching Sintrones cable. For a smaller screen, the VDM-700HD is a 7″ monitor on the same one-cable approach, and the VPC-101RA1S puts a 10.1″ touchscreen and computer in one unit.
