FCCVPC-101RA1S Overview
A driver or operator terminal in a cab has to stay readable in direct sun and run from whatever the vehicle supplies. The Sintrones VPC-101RA1S is a 10.1 inch panel PC built for that job, combining a 1,000 nits touchscreen and an Arm computer in one fanless unit. It is the standard air-bonded build of the VPC-101RA1S series, and the VPC-101RA1S-OB adds optical bonding between the panel and the touch glass.
The 10.1″ panel runs at 1280 x 800 with an 800:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles, under projected capacitive touch with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint treatment and IK08 impact protection. Behind it, the NXP i.MX 8QuadXPlus automotive SoC (AEC-Q100 Grade 3) pairs four Arm Cortex-A35 cores at up to 1.2 GHz with a Cortex-M4F core at up to 264 MHz and a GC7000Lite GPU. Memory is 4 GB of LPDDR4, with 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 and a Micro SD slot, running Yocto Linux. An accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetic sensor are built in.
The VPC-101RA1S has two GbE ports, two USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) Type-A ports, one RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port on DB9, line-out and mic-in, plus a USB Type-C port for firmware updates. Three CAN FD ports and digital I/O (8x DI at 5 to 60 V DC, 4x DO at 5 V/100 mA) are optional. Inside, M.2 slots take optional WWAN with a nano SIM, GNSS and Wi-Fi modules, with six SMA antenna holes.
Power is 9 to 60 V DC (12, 24 or 48 V nominal) with ignition detection, smart power management and over-current, over-voltage, surge and reverse-polarity protection. The panel PC runs from -30 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow and is rated to IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810H for vibration and MIL-STD-810H for shock, with CE, FCC Class A and UKCA compliance. It mounts by VESA or into a panel cutout. We supply the VPC-101RA1S configured and tested, with the Yocto Linux image and any optional wireless modules and antennas fitted. It is available to order, and the VDM-101HD is a 10.1″ monitor for a separate box PC.
