Sintrones VPC-101RA1S NXP i.MX 8QuadXPlus 10.1" Sunlight Readable Panel PCs with Front IP66

A terminal in a vehicle cab or on an outdoor machine is read in direct sun, touched with gloves and powered from a supply that rises and dips with the engine. The Sintrones VPC-101RA1S series is a family of 10.1 inch sunlight readable panel PCs designed for that combination, with a 1,000 nits touchscreen, a front IP66 frame and an Arm computer in one fanless unit. Every VPC-101RA1S panel PC is built on the NXP i.MX 8QuadXPlus, an automotive SoC rated AEC-Q100 Grade 3, with four Arm Cortex-A35 cores at up to 1.2 GHz, a Cortex-M4F core and a GC7000Lite GPU. Memory is 4 GB of LPDDR4, storage is 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 plus Micro SD, and the operating system is Yocto Linux. The 10.1″ 1280 x 800 panel reaches 1,000 nits with an 800:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles, under PCAP touch with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint treatment and IK08 glass. I/O covers two GbE, two USB 3.0, two serial ports on DB9 and audio, with optional three CAN FD ports and digital I/O, and M.2 slots for optional WWAN, GNSS and Wi-Fi. An accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetic sensor are built in.

There are two builds. The VPC-101RA1S uses air bonding between the touch glass and the panel, the standard construction for the series. The VPC-101RA1S-OB bonds the touch glass optically to the panel, for installations where optical bonding is part of the display specification. Compute, I/O, power and mounting are the same on both, so the choice comes down to the screen.

In practice, the VPC-101RA1S series suits cab terminals on buses and service vehicles, fleet and dispatch HMIs, outdoor kiosks and operator panels on mobile machinery. Power is 9 to 60 V DC with ignition detection and smart power management, operation runs from -30 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, and Sintrones rates the units to MIL-STD-810H for shock and vibration with CE, FCC Class A and UKCA compliance. Storage runs from -40 °C to 80 °C at 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity. Each VPC-101RA1S mounts by VESA or into a 251.5 x 169.5 mm panel cutout, measures 262 x 180 x 52 mm and weighs 2.08 kg, and we supply it configured and tested with the operating system image and any optional modules fitted.
