BEDROCK R8000 Overview
Machine control, vision and edge AI in a control cabinet all compete for the same strip of DIN rail. The SolidRun BEDROCK R8000 is a fanless DIN rail industrial PC built for that space, in aluminium enclosures that clip to a DIN rail or fix to a wall, VESA bracket or desk. It sits in the SolidRun Bedrock range beside the BEDROCK R7000 EDGE AI and RAI300, and a case study shows it running a cold-chain robot fleet.
There are four processors. The AMD Ryzen Embedded 8845HS and Ryzen 9 PRO 8945HS are eight-core, 16-thread 45 W parts, and the Ryzen Embedded 8840U has the same core count at 15 W; all three have Radeon 780M graphics, a 16 TOPS NPU and ECC memory support; the four-core Ryzen 3 7440U is the 15 W entry option. Two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 96 GB, ECC or non-ECC, and the main NVMe SSD ranges from 256 GB to 4 TB, with a 960 GB Micron 7450 for power loss protection.
The SX 4M2 board adds two M.2 slots for Hailo-8 or Hailo-10 modules or more NVMe drives, an M.2 key-E socket for Wi-Fi 6E or a third Hailo-8, and a modem socket for LTE Cat 4, LTE Cat 12 or 5G. The NIO R8000 4X25 board gives the BEDROCK R8000 four 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226 controllers and USB4 at 40 Gb/s, and the NIO R7000 Basic gives two 2.5GbE ports. Up to four displays run over HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1.
The enclosure is matched to the processor: the 60W enclosure (73 mm wide) for the 45 W parts, the 30W (45 mm) for the 15 W parts, and the 29 mm Tile for either, cooled into a cold plate or chassis wall. Without a power module the BEDROCK R8000 runs from 12 to 24 V DC; the PM 1260 and PM 1248 modules widen that to 12 to 60 V or 12 to 48 V. Builds are rated 0 to 70 °C or -40 to 85 °C; choose yours in the configurator.

Official SolidRun UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official SolidRun UK distributor, and we supply the BEDROCK R8000 built to order with the processor, memory, storage, AI modules and operating system fitted. Where a project needs 12 cores and a 50 TOPS NPU, the RAI300 uses the same enclosures and expansion boards.
For Ryzen 7 7040 Series builds with Hailo-8, see the BEDROCK R7000 EDGE AI series, and for dual 10GbE SFP+ the BEDROCK V3000 BASIC. Across our range, the BEDROCK R8000 sits with our DIN rail PCs and our edge AI computers.
