Stereolabs ZED-X-MINI GMSL2 IP67 3D Depth Cameras with 5 cm Baseline, Global Shutter and Up to 12 m Depth
The Stereolabs ZED-X-MINI series is a family of IP67 3D depth cameras with dual 1/2.6" 2.3MP global-shutter sensors on a 5 cm baseline, wide 2.2 mm or narrow 4.6 mm lenses, an optional built-in polarizer and GMSL2 over FAKRA Z up to 15 m. Depth starts at 0.1 m, so the ZED-X-MINI series suits robot arms, pick-and-place, small mobile robots and outdoor handling deployments.
- 5 cm Stereo Baseline: A short baseline brings minimum depth down to 0.1 m, for cameras on robot arms, grippers and small robots.
- Global Shutter 2.3MP Sensors: Two 1/2.6″ global-shutter sensors at 1920 x 1200 and 60 fps or 960 x 600 at 120 fps.
- Wide or Narrow Lens Choice: 2.2 mm lenses for depth from 0.1 m to 8 m, or 4.6 mm lenses for depth from 0.15 m to 12 m.
- GMSL2 with Multi-Camera Sync: Lockable FAKRA Z GMSL2 up to 15 m with power over coax, and hardware sync across cameras within 100 µs.
- IP67 with Optional Polarizer: IP67-rated aluminium bodies rated -20 °C to 60 °C, with polarizer builds that cut glare and reflections outdoors.

ZED-X-MINI Description
A 12 cm stereo bar is a good fit for a vehicle, but on a robot arm or a small mobile robot it is too long to mount and cannot see objects right in front of it. The Stereolabs ZED-X-MINI series shortens the baseline to 5 cm, giving IP67 3D depth cameras that see from 0.1 m with the same global-shutter sensors and GMSL2 link as the larger ZED-X.
Each ZED-X-MINI camera uses two 1/2.6″ 2.3MP global-shutter sensors outputting 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps, 1080p at 60 fps or 960 x 600 at 120 fps, so a moving arm or gripper does not skew the image. GMSL2 carries video and power over a lockable FAKRA Z coax for up to 15 m at a typical 1.46 W, and hardware sync aligns multiple cameras within 100 µs. A 200 Hz IMU supports tracking, and the ZED SDK provides depth, point clouds, positional tracking, object detection and body tracking. Hosts are NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Xavier modules on Jetson Linux.
The range splits by lens and polarizer. The ZED-X-MINI-WIDE uses 2.2 mm lenses for depth from 0.1 m to 8 m over up to 120° diagonally, the closest working range in the series and a good fit for pick-and-place and shared robot cells. The ZED-X-MINI-WIDE-POL adds a built-in polarizer to those optics for outdoor harvesting and handling. The ZED-X-MINI-NARROW moves to 4.6 mm lenses for depth from 0.15 m to 12 m and body tracking to 12 m, for inspection heads and small robots. The ZED-X-MINI-NARROW-POL pairs that reach with the polarizer for small outdoor machines.
In practice the ZED-X-MINI series suits manufacturing, logistics and agricultural robots where space on the machine is limited. All four 3D depth cameras are IP67-rated, operate from -20 °C to 60 °C at up to 90% humidity at 40 °C, are rated for 2g RMS vibration from 3 to 500 Hz, and mount by a 1/4″-20 thread, 2x M3 and 4x M4 holes. They carry CE and FCC marks, with ICES-003, RoHS, REACH and TSCA listed, and Stereolabs offers right-angle FAKRA cables and a tiltable mount.

Official Stereolabs UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Stereolabs UK distributor, and we supply the ZED-X-MINI series tested with the matching FAKRA Z cables, a ZED Link capture card or ZED Box Mini, JetPack and the ZED SDK configured on a Jetson Orin host before it ships. Within the Stereolabs range, the ZED-X uses the same sensors on a 12 cm baseline for depth to 35 m, and the ZED-X-NANO drops to an 18 mm baseline for depth from 3 cm on humanoid wrists, without an IP rating. Our team can help you match baseline and lens to your working distance.
Across our range, the ZED-X-MINI series sits with our close-range stereo cameras, our GMSL cameras and our wider camera range.
