EAC-4000-XR16 Overview
Traffic cameras, inspection stations and delivery robots tend to share one constraint: inference has to happen next to the sensor, in a cabinet or bay with little space and no forced airflow to rely on. The Vecow EAC-4000-XR16 is a fanless embedded box PC for that kind of job, built on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB and rated at up to 100 TOPS. It is the fanless 16GB build in the EAC-4000 series, without the out-of-band module.
The Orin NX 16GB module pairs an eight-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU with a 1024-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU, 32 Tensor Cores, two NVDLA engines and 16 GB of LPDDR5. That headroom suits running more than one model at once, for example a detector feeding a tracker, without cutting either down. Hardware encode handles up to six 1080p streams at 60 fps in HEVC, and decode reaches one 8K stream at 30 fps. Vecow supports Super Mode on the module, and we supply the EAC-4000-XR16 with JetPack 6.2 on Ubuntu 22.04 and an NVMe SSD of 128 GB to 1 TB fitted.
I/O is one Gigabit Ethernet port on RJ45, four USB 3.1 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 4K at 60 Hz and two DB9 COM ports that switch between RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 for PLCs, scanners and older serial devices. A full-size Mini PCIe socket with a nano SIM slot and two antenna positions takes an optional 4G or Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module, and the M.2 Key M socket runs the SSD on PCIe 4.0 x4. A micro USB port handles flashing, and TPM 2.0 is optional.
Power is 12 V DC on a three-pin terminal block. In 15 W mode the unit runs from -25 °C to 55 °C, or up to 45 °C in 25 W mode, with operating shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G, and Vecow lists EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 compliance alongside CE and FCC. It mounts on a wall, with an optional DIN rail kit. For Super Mode at 40 W, the EAC-4000F-XR16 adds a fansink, and the EAC-4000-XR16-OOB adds Allxon out-of-band management.
