Vecow EAC-4000 NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano Embedded Box PCs with Dual COM, Mini PCIe and Optional OOB Management

Small AI jobs at the edge often end up on hardware sized for something bigger, simply because the smaller options lacked serial ports, a SIM slot or a sensible power input. The Vecow EAC-4000 series is a family of embedded box PCs that keeps the useful industrial I/O and drops the bulk. Every model runs an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX or Orin Nano module, on 12 V DC, for traffic vision, automated optical inspection and delivery robots.

All EAC-4000 models share one design. Each has one Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 3.1 Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 4K at 60 Hz and two DB9 COM ports for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. Storage is an NVMe SSD of 128 GB to 1 TB in an M.2 Key M socket on PCIe 4.0 x4, and a full-size Mini PCIe socket with nano SIM and two antenna positions takes an optional 4G or Wi-Fi module. The standard builds are fanless; the F builds add a fansink so the Orin NX can run in 40 W Super Mode, and any build can carry the Allxon out-of-band module for remote power control and a cloud serial console.

The Orin NX 16GB builds, at up to 100 TOPS, are the EAC-4000-XR16 and EAC-4000-XR16-OOB, with fansink versions in the EAC-4000F-XR16 and EAC-4000F-XR16-OOB. The Orin NX 8GB, at up to 70 TOPS with one NVDLA engine, comes as the EAC-4000-XR08, EAC-4000-XR08-OOB, EAC-4000F-XR08 and EAC-4000F-XR08-OOB. On the Orin Nano, the EAC-4000-AR08 and EAC-4000-AR08-OOB keep the 1024-core GPU at up to 40 TOPS, while the EAC-4000-AR04 and EAC-4000-AR04-OOB use the 512-core 4GB module at up to 20 TOPS for lighter models. Orin Nano builds have no NVDLA or hardware encoder, so the Orin NX suits pipelines that re-encode video.

In practice the EAC-4000 series suits roadside and junction cameras, inspection stations, retail analytics and delivery robots. Vecow rates the fanless builds from -25 °C to 55 °C in 15 W mode and lists MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration testing, with EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 compliance and CE and FCC under EMC, which helps where the same box PC also goes onto rolling stock. Wall mounting is standard and a DIN rail kit is optional. Vecow supports Super Mode on both module families, and TPM 2.0 is optional.
