MIC-742-AT Description
Physical AI moves the work of a data-centre GPU onto a robot, a vehicle or an inspection cell, where it has to read cameras, lidar and motor controllers in real time and run several models at once. The Advantech MIC-742-AT series brings the NVIDIA Jetson Thor into an industrial AI computer for those jobs, in a fan-cooled case of 217 x 76.4 x 184.5 mm that mounts on a wall or DIN rail.
Both versions use the Arm Neoverse V3AE CPU and a Blackwell GPU with fifth-generation Tensor Cores, with LPDDR5X memory on the module and up to 2070 FP4 TFLOPS on the T5000. Advantech moves data off the computer through a single QSFP28 port carrying several 25GbE links, plus a 5GbE RJ45 port, so high-resolution cameras, lidar and an uplink each get their own bandwidth. Storage is an M.2 2280 NVMe socket on PCIe x4, with a 1 TB SSD and JetPack 7.0 pre-installed on A1 builds, and two SATA connectors for bulk storage. Camera capture is through the optional MIC-FG-8G2C1 frame grabber, which adds eight GMSL2 channels on mini FAKRA connectors.
The series has two versions. The MIC-742-AT-T5000 uses the 14-core Jetson T5000 with a 2560-core GPU, 96 Tensor Cores and 128 GB of LPDDR5X, with four 25GbE links and four CAN FD ports for motor controllers and vehicle networks. The MIC-742-AT-T4000 uses the 12-core Jetson T4000 with a 1536-core GPU, 64 Tensor Cores and 64 GB, with three 25GbE links and no CAN, for vision and inference work that has no vehicle bus to join. Each is ordered as an A1 build with SSD and JetPack or an A2 build without.
Typical MIC-742-AT deployments include humanoid and mobile robots, autonomous agricultural and logistics machines, multi-camera quality inspection and edge generative AI. Shared I/O covers four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, HDMI at 3840 x 2160 and 60 Hz, an I2C interface, an M.2 E-key socket for optional Wi-Fi and an M.2 B-key socket with nano SIM for optional LTE or 5G, with TPM on board. Power is 19 to 36 V DC on a terminal block, operation is -10 °C to 60 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow, vibration is rated at 3 Grms, and the MIC-742-AT carries CE, FCC, CCC, KCC, BSMI and UL certifications.

Official Advantech UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Advantech UK distributor, and we supply the MIC-742-AT series configured and tested, with NVMe storage, the JetPack image, Wi-Fi or 5G modules, antennas and the GMSL2 frame grabber fitted where the project needs them before it ships, so each unit arrives ready to boot into your application. Within the Advantech range, the MIC-733-AO runs the Jetson AGX Orin with isolated digital I/O and an optional PCIe x8 iModule, and the MIC-713 puts Jetson Orin NX or Orin Nano in a compact industrial embedded computer with CAN FD and digital I/O. Where the application runs on Intel x86 rather than Arm, the MIC-770 V3 takes Intel Core processors on the LGA1700 socket in a rugged fanless PC.
Across our range, the MIC-742-AT series sits with our Jetson Thor computers, our edge AI computers and our DIN rail PCs.
