Depots, ports and freight yards need gateways that collect data from gates, weighbridges, cameras and vehicles, then pass it on over fibre or cellular. Power there is often a 24 V supply, and the cabinet sees the weather. The PTH173-IE-U5336HRE is the Core Ultra 5 HRE build in the DFI PTH173 series, and it covers that job on one Mini-ITX board.

It carries the Intel Core Ultra 5 336HRE (Panther Lake) with Intel vPro and Arc Xe3 graphics, enough for protocol conversion, local databases and a number-plate or container-code recognition step. Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots take up to 128 GB in dual channel. HDMI 2.0, DP++ and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode give three 4K outputs at 60 Hz for a local operator screen, with a fourth through an optional M.2 A-key module.

Three 2.5GbE ports on Intel I226V and I226LM controllers connect cameras, the site network and a backhaul link, and an M.2 B-key with Nano SIM takes an LTE or 5G module as a second uplink. Four COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, two RS-232) and 8-bit DIO handle barriers, readers and weighbridge indicators. A PCIe Gen5 x4 slot takes an extra LAN or serial card, and an M.2 M-key plus two SATA ports hold NVMe and SATA storage.

The PTH173-IE-U5336HRE operates from -20 to 70 °C under an active cooler, takes 12 to 28 V DC on a barrel connector or 4-pin connector, and carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. For heavier vision work at the gate, PTH173-IE-U7366HRE steps up to the Core Ultra 7 366HRE. Where the cabinet is small and sealed, PTH173-IE-U5335RE uses the 15 W Core Ultra 5 335RE.
