Diamond Systems JMM-512 50W +5V/+12V DC/DC Extended Temperature PC104 Power Supply For Vehicles

Air and ground vehicles feed their electronics from 12 V or 24 V systems that sag and spike, and a PC/104 stack needs regulated rails delivered straight onto its bus. The JMM-512 is the dual-output model in the Diamond Systems JUPITER-MM series, a 50 W vehicle power supply in PC/104 form factor that Diamond designed for exactly that job.

It gives +5 V at up to 10 A and +12 V at up to 2 A, with 50 W of total output. Power goes directly onto the 8-bit and 16-bit PC/104 bus headers, so boards above and below take power through the stack, and also onto an auxiliary screw-terminal connector for external loads. Output indicator LEDs confirm each rail, and the supply can be switched on and off by an external contact closure.

Input is 7 to 34 V DC with a 1500 W transient voltage suppressor and a nominal transient cutoff at 31 V. The 200 kHz switching design reaches 80 to 92% efficiency, which keeps heat down inside a sealed enclosure, and output protection covers current limit and short circuit. Diamond quotes load regulation of ±3% and an MTBF of 107,941 hours for the JMM-512. The JMM-512-V512 adds -5 V and -12 V rails, and the JMM-LP-XT is a 25 W, 5 V-only supply that needs no heat sink.

The JMM-512 runs from -40 to 85 °C at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity. Surface-mount components and a low-profile top heat spreader with compressible thermal material keep it within PC/104 height limits, so CPU and I/O cards stack on either side without mechanical interference.
