Diamond Systems JMM-LP-XT 25W 5V Rugged Low Cost DC/DC Power Supply

Small PC/104 systems often draw well under 25 W, and in a sealed or cramped enclosure a heat sink only adds height and cost. The JMM-LP-XT is the Jupiter-MM-LP from Diamond Systems, a low-cost PC/104 DC/DC power supply that delivers 25 W at +5 V with no heat sink, and with extended temperature included as standard.

The output is +5 V within ±5% at up to 5 A, with ±3% load regulation, less than 50 mV RMS ripple and 80 to 92% efficiency depending on load and input voltage. Output protection covers current limit and short circuit. Power reaches the stack through the PC/104 bus pins on the J1 and J2 stackthrough connectors, and also appears on a 7-pin detachable screw terminal for external loads.

Input is 7 to 30 V DC, suiting 12 V and 24 V systems, through either a 2-pin detachable screw terminal or the 7-pin combination terminal, the same connectors used on the larger JUPITER-MM series. A 1500 W transient voltage suppressor protects the input, with a nominal cutoff at 31 V. Where a stack needs more power or +12 V, the JMM-512 gives 50 W across +5 V and +12 V, and the JMM-7005-UPS adds a supercapacitor UPS input at 25 W.

The JMM-LP-XT operates from -40 to 85 °C at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity. Its low-profile surface-mount design fits entirely within the PC/104 module specification, so CPU and I/O boards can stack above or below it without mechanical interference.
