Sintrones VBOX-3132 Intel Atom x7000RE Amston Lake Fanless DIN Rail Computer with M12 and PoE

On a bus or a train, a camera that drops out is often down to nothing more than a network plug shaken loose over months of running. The Sintrones VBOX-3132P-M12X is the M12 DIN rail computer in the VBOX-3132 series, with its four PoE camera ports and 2.5GbE uplink on screw-locking X-coded connectors in a 150 x 150 x 87 mm unit.

Compute is an Intel Atom x7835RE with eight cores up to 3.6 GHz or an Atom x7433RE with four cores up to 3.4 GHz, with up to 16 GB of DDR5 on one SO-DIMM, Intel UHD Graphics and TPM 2.0. Two M.2 2280 SSD slots (one NVMe, one NVMe or SATA) let the VBOX-3132P-M12X keep the operating system on one drive and recorded video on the other, and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS are supported.

Networking is four GbE ports from a Marvell Ethernet switch with PoE at up to 15 W per port (PSE Class 3) from a 60 W budget, sharing a 1GbE link, plus one Intel I226-IT 2.5GbE port, all on M12 X-coded connectors. Alongside the network ports sit one CAN FD port for vehicle equipment, two RS-232/422/485 ports with four more available as an option, eight digital inputs and four outputs, two USB 3.2 and two USB 2.0 ports and an HDMI output at up to 4K. An M.2 Key B slot takes 4G or 5G with dual nano SIM, so the unit can switch provider on signal quality, and an M.2 Key E slot takes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Power is 9 to 60 V DC with ignition detection, smart power management and over-current, over-voltage, surge and reverse-polarity protection, and a 24 V or higher supply is recommended for the PoE models. The VBOX-3132P-M12X runs fanless from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, mounts on DIN rail or a wall, is tested to MIL-STD-810H and carries EN 50155, EN 45545-2 (R25) and E-Mark compliance. Where the cabinet is fixed and vibration is low, the VBOX-3132P offers the same ports on RJ45.
