Stereolabs ZED-X-ONE-GS GMSL2 Global Shutter Cameras with 2.3MP Sensor, Hardware Sync and Narrow, Wide or No Lens

The Stereolabs ZED X One GS series is a family of monocular global shutter cameras with a 1/2.6" 2.3MP sensor, 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps, GMSL2 over FAKRA Z up to 15 m, hardware synchronisation within 15 microseconds and a six-axis IMU. Narrow, wide and no-lens builds are offered. The series suits custom stereo rigs, factory automation, logistics and humanoid robot deployments on NVIDIA Jetson Orin.

  • 2.3MP Global Shutter Sensor: A 1/2.6″ sensor exposing every pixel at once, at 1920 x 1200 and 60 fps or 960 x 600 at 120 fps.
  • GMSL2 over FAKRA Z: Video and power on one lockable coax link, with cable runs of up to 15 m to an NVIDIA Jetson Orin host.
  • Hardware Multi-Camera Sync: Frame-level synchronisation within 15 microseconds, so several cameras can form a custom stereo pair or surround view.
  • Bosch BMI088 Six-Axis IMU: A 16-bit accelerometer and gyroscope reporting at 200 Hz, read through the Stereolabs Sensors API.
  • -20 to 55 °C at 0.89 W: Rated from -20 °C to 55 °C, drawing 0.89 W at 12 V over GMSL2, with M4 and adapter-plate mounting.

ZED-X-ONE-GS Description

A stereo camera with a fixed baseline and lens set is the quickest route to depth, but it does not suit every robot. Some designs need a wider baseline, a different lens on each side or cameras spread around a machine. The Stereolabs ZED X One GS series covers those cases with a single global shutter camera that you can use alone, pair into a custom stereo rig or combine into a multi-camera surround view. Stereolabs describes it as a camera for flexible integration of stereo systems and multi-camera surround vision.

Every ZED X One GS uses a 1/2.6″ 2.3MP sensor with an electronically synchronised global shutter, so every pixel is exposed at the same moment and moving parts are captured without skew. Output runs at 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps, 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps in cropping mode or 960 x 600 at 120 fps in binning mode, in RAW10 or YUV 4:2:2, with 71.4 dB dynamic range. GMSL2 on a lockable FAKRA Z connector carries video and power over coax runs of up to 15 m to an NVIDIA Jetson Orin host, and hardware synchronisation aligns frames across cameras within 15 microseconds. A Bosch BMI088 six-axis IMU reports at 200 Hz.

The ZED X One GS range splits by lens. The ZED-X-ONE-GS-NARROW has a 4.6 mm f/2.0 lens and a 73° horizontal view, which puts more pixels on distant or small targets for picking and parcel work. The ZED-X-ONE-GS-WIDE has a 2.2 mm f/2.2 lens and a 110° horizontal view, suited to workcells, humanoid heads and surround-view rings. The ZED-X-ONE-GS-NO-LENS has no optic fitted, so you can match your own lens to the sensor, guided by its recommended lens chief ray angle of 0° ± 3°.

In practice the ZED X One GS series suits factory automation, logistics sortation and humanoid robots, plus any project building its own stereo pair. All three builds draw 0.89 W at 12 V over GMSL2, are rated from -20 °C to 55 °C at up to 90% relative humidity at 40 °C, and mount on four M4 threads or a 1/4″-20 adapter plate. Stereolabs lists CE, REACH, RoHS, TSCA and EMC compliance and a two-year warranty. These global shutter cameras capture through a ZED Link capture card or a GMSL2-equipped Jetson computer running Jetson Linux (L4T) v35.1 or newer.

Official Stereolabs UK Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Stereolabs UK distributor, and we supply the ZED X One GS series tested with the GMSL2 FAKRA cables, the ZED Link capture card or ZED Box Mini and the Jetson host it will run on, with drivers configured before it ships. Within the Stereolabs range, the ZED X One S uses the same 2.3MP global shutter sensor in a smaller body and adds fisheye and IP69K wide builds, and the ZED X is a ready-made IP67 stereo camera for when a fixed baseline suits the job. If you are unsure which lens fits your rig, our team can help you choose and plan the cabling.

Across our range, the ZED X One GS series sits with our industrial cameras, our GMSL cameras and our ZED Link Quad capture card.
