A two-camera stream or recording needs both SDI feeds captured in step, with each one still reaching its monitor. The SC542N2-L SDI is Yuan’s 2-channel PCIe SDI capture card for that set-up, with two SDI inputs and two SDI loop-through outputs on one short card.
Each channel captures SDI up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, with HD-SDI at 1080p30/25/24, 1080i60/50 and 720p60/50, and SD-SDI at 720 x 480i and 720 x 576i. Colour formats for capture and preview are 8-bit RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0. Two embedded audio channels are captured as stereo 16-bit at 32 to 48 kHz. On-board processing handles cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no built-in hardware encoder, so any encoding is left to the host software.
The card uses a PCIe x1 Gen2 link. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK, supports DirectShow and V4L2 software, and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting as compatible applications. The SC542N1-L SDI is the single-channel version, and the SC542N4-L SDI captures four SDI feeds on PCIe x4.
Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM, and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 122.3 x 68.9 mm and carries 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog. The loop-through outputs keep both feeds on their local monitors while recording runs. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support, for hosts that run more than one card or capture session.
