Diamond Systems EPS-9610-L3-TSN-HSP Rugged 8-Port Gigabit + 2-Port 10G SFP+ Managed Layer 3 TSN Switch with Heat Spreader

A sealed rugged system that synchronises cameras, sensors or actuators needs precise shared timing and a switch that passes its heat into the chassis. The EPS-9610-L3-TSN-HSP is the TSN model with a heat spreader in the Diamond Systems EPS-9600 series, a Layer 3 Ethernet switch board built on the Microchip LAN969x switch family and designed for rugged applications.

It provides eight 1 Gbps copper ports on latching connectors and two 10 Gbps capable SFP+ sockets that take copper or fibre modules. Layer 3 embedded software adds software- and hardware-based IPv4 and IPv6 static routing, with an RS-232 console, JSON-RPC and RADIUS accounting for management. The ZL30732B TSN clock is fitted for Time-Sensitive Networking with IEEE-1588 PTP, and a PTP/PPS signal is brought out.

The software covers VLAN, QoS, RSTP and MSTP, link aggregation, IGMP snooping, port mirroring, storm control, port and queue policers, port-based 802.1X, 802.1Qbb priority-based flow control and jumbo frames. The EPS-9610-L3-TSN-HSK is the same build with a heat sink, and the EPS-9610-L3-HSP is the base Layer 3 model with a heat spreader.

Input power is 12 to 34 V DC, and all components and the board are rated for -40 to +85 °C operation, with a heat spreader for cooling. The board uses the PC/104 mounting hole pattern, which eases installation in existing mechanical designs. A 100-pin board-to-board connector on the underside takes standard or custom daughterboards for up to 28 total 1G, 2.5G and 10G ports and 88 Gbps total bandwidth. The CK-EPS9600-01 cable kit breaks the Gigabit ports out to RJ-45 with power and serial leads.
