The Sintrones iBOX-650P-IP66 takes a high-performance NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin module, rated by Sintrones at up to 275 TOPS with 64 GB, and seals it into an IP66, fanless enclosure for environments that would defeat an ordinary edge computer. We supply it for outdoor, vehicle and industrial AI where water, dust and temperature are part of the brief.

Its Ethernet and serial ports use screw-locking M12 connectors, CAN uses M8, and USB and HDMI sit behind IP67 connectors, so the sealing holds all the way to the cable, not just to the box.

Which sealed iBOX: 650P or 602P

Sintrones builds two IP66 Jetson computers on the same sealed design. They differ in the module, the camera count and the network.

Specification Sintrones iBOX-650P-IP66 Sintrones iBOX-602P-IP66
Module NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB / 32 GB NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16 GB / 8 GB
AI performance 275 TOPS (64 GB) / 200 TOPS (32 GB) 100 TOPS (16 GB) / 70 TOPS (8 GB)
GMSL-2 cameras 4× FAKRA-Z on camera builds; LE builds use IP cameras 2× FAKRA
LAN 1× 10GbE, 2× 2.5GbE, M12 X-coded 1× 2.5GbE, 1× GbE, M12 X-coded
PoE PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) on both 2.5GbE ports, up to 30 W each PoE on both ports, 15.4 W each within a 32 W budget
Temperature −25 to 70 °C Start-up from −40 °C (heater); −35 to 60 °C under full load
Sealing IP66, fanless IP66, fanless

Choose the 650P when the workload needs AGX Orin headroom, four GMSL-2 cameras or a 10GbE backhaul; the Orin NX iBOX-602P-IP66 covers lighter camera loads in a far smaller enclosure, and starts in colder weather.

Applications · 6 uses

Where the iBOX-650P-IP66 fits

AI that has to run where there is no cabinet to put it in, with rain, dust, wash-down and wide temperature swings.

Roadside surveillance

Dense camera analytics at the roadside, with 10GbE and PoE+ for high-resolution IP cameras.

Rail

Rail-side and onboard vision, with EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 listed and MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration testing.

Agriculture and outdoor machinery

Perception on machines that work in rain, dust and mud, sealed against all three.

Ports and marine equipment

Sealed IP66 compute for quayside and marine equipment exposed to spray and wash-down.

Deploying · 6 checksiBOX-650P-IP66

Before you deploy outdoors

We configure, image and test every iBOX-650P-IP66 before it ships. These are the checks that decide the build for an outdoor site.

  1. 01

    Camera build

Choose the four-input GMSL-2 build for direct camera capture, with oToBrite, e-con Systems and Stereolabs cameras on the supported list, or the LE build where video arrives over the network.

  2. 02

    PoE budget

The two 2.5GbE ports supply PoE+ at up to 30 W each. Add up the cameras' draw before relying on the computer to power them.

  3. 03

    Site temperature

The iBOX-650P-IP66 runs from −25 to 70 °C. For colder sites, the heated iBOX-602P-IP66 starts from −40 °C.

  4. 04

    Power and backup

The 9–60 V DC input with ignition detection suits vehicle and remote supplies; specify the optional backup battery where power loss is a risk.

  5. 05

    Sealed cabling

Ethernet and serial use M12, CAN uses M8, and USB and HDMI use IP67 connectors. Specify matching sealed cables so the IP66 rating holds at every port.

  6. 06

    Certification and origin

E-Mark, ECE R118, EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25) are listed, and the system is made in Taiwan with an Orin lifecycle to January 2032.

05FAQs

iBOX-650P-IP66 FAQs

  1. What does IP66 mean?

IP66 is the rating above IP65 — dust-tight, and protected against powerful water jets. It is the standard specification for outdoor industrial computing in storm-exposed locations, marine deck equipment and light wash-down food handling, equivalent to NEMA 4 / 4X in North American markets.

  2. Orin NX vs AGX Orin: What Is the Difference?

The Orin NX is the mid-range Jetson module, with up to 157 TOPS in 10 to 40 W and 8 to 16 GB. The AGX Orin is the high-end module, with up to 275 TOPS, 32 to 64 GB, and more I/O, in a larger form factor. Choose the AGX Orin when the workload needs the extra compute, memory, or interfaces; otherwise the Orin NX is the smaller, lower-power, lower-cost…

  3. PoE vs PoE+ vs PoE++: The 802.3af, 802.3at and 802.3bt Standards

802.3af (PoE), 802.3at (PoE+) and 802.3bt (PoE++) are the three IEEE Power over Ethernet standards. They differ mainly in power per port, roughly 15 W, 30 W, and up to 60 to 90 W, with the higher tiers using all four pairs of the cable.

  4. What is 10GbE networking?

10 Gigabit Ethernet — the networking standard increasingly used as the practical baseline for edge AI workloads handling high-resolution video, multi-sensor telemetry, and distributed inference.

  5. What Is an M12 X-Coded Connector?

An M12 X-coded connector is the 8-pin M12 coding for Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Its four twisted pairs are separated by a cross-shaped shield that controls crosstalk at high speed, and it can carry Power over Ethernet with a suitable cable. It is defined in IEC 61076-2-109.

  6. MIL-STD-810G vs MIL-STD-810H: What Is the Difference?

MIL-STD-810G (2008) and MIL-STD-810H (2019) are successive revisions of the US military environmental test standard. 810H is the current version; it refined and reorganised test methods and tightened guidance, but both define test methods rather than a pass or fail certificate.

  7. What Is TAA Compliance?

TAA compliance means a product is wholly manufactured or substantially transformed in the United States or a TAA-designated country, as required by the Trade Agreements Act for many US federal and defence purchases. It is about country of origin, not US content levels, which is what the separate Buy American Act covers.
