The Sintrones iBOX-602P-IP66 is a small, fully sealed NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX computer rated IP66 against water and dust. It is built for outdoor and on-vehicle AI in surveillance, transport and infrastructure, where a fanless, waterproof design is the only option. We supply it for sealed edge AI deployments that still need PoE cameras and real-time vision.

Like the larger AGX Orin model in the range, it carries its interfaces on sealed M12, M8 and FAKRA connectors, so the IP66 rating holds to the cable, not just to the box.

Sealing · 5Sealing

Sealed to the cable, not just the box

A sealed, fanless design removes the two parts that fail outdoors, the fan and the open port. These are the features that let the iBOX-602P-IP66 run where an ordinary edge computer would not.

IP66 and sealed connectors

The enclosure is waterproof, dustproof and passively cooled. Ethernet sits on M12 X-coded connectors, power on M12 K-coded, CAN FD, serial and digital I/O on M8, and the GMSL-2 inputs on FAKRA, with a covered USB 3.2 port and HDMI for service. Our chart of IP65 to IP69K ratings shows where IP66 sits.

Cold-start heater

A built-in heater brings the computer up from −40 °C, where many sealed systems would simply not boot, and it runs from −35 to 60 °C with both GMSL-2 cameras and PoE loaded.

PoE camera power

One 2.5GbE port and one GbE port each supply 15.4 W PoE to IP cameras, so the computer powers its own cameras over a single sealed cable. Two GMSL-2 inputs add vehicle-grade cameras, including the Stereolabs ZED X. Our guide to industrial Power over Ethernet explains the IEEE standards behind it.

Power input and battery kit

A 9–60 V DC input on an M12 K-coded connector, with ignition management for vehicle installs. Sintrones offers an optional battery kit for 5 to 10 minutes of backup through a power loss.

Certifications and origin

Tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, compliant with EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25), and E-Mark listed for vehicles. It is made in Taiwan, useful where country of origin and TAA compliance form part of the brief.

05FAQs

iBOX-602P-IP66 FAQs

  1. What does IP66 mean?

IP66 is the rating above IP65 — dust-tight, and protected against powerful water jets. It is the standard specification for outdoor industrial computing in storm-exposed locations, marine deck equipment and light wash-down food handling, equivalent to NEMA 4 / 4X in North American markets.

  2. Jetson Orin Nano vs Orin NX: What Is the Difference?

The Orin Nano delivers up to 67 TOPS in 7 to 25 W with 4 to 8 GB, suited to entry-level, low-power vision. The Orin NX steps up to 157 TOPS in 10 to 40 W with 8 to 16 GB, for multi-camera and heavier inference. Choose the NX when one camera or one model is not enough.

  3. Orin NX vs AGX Orin: What Is the Difference?

The Orin NX is the mid-range Jetson module, with up to 157 TOPS in 10 to 40 W and 8 to 16 GB. The AGX Orin is the high-end module, with up to 275 TOPS, 32 to 64 GB, and more I/O, in a larger form factor. Choose the AGX Orin when the workload needs the extra compute, memory, or interfaces; otherwise the Orin NX is the smaller, lower-power, lower-cost…

  4. How Much Power Does PoE Deliver?

PoE delivers up to about 15 W per port (802.3af), PoE+ up to about 30 W (802.3at), and PoE++ up to 60 W or 90 W (802.3bt), at around 48 V DC. Some power is lost in the cable, so the figure available at the device is a little lower than at the source.

  5. What Is an M12 X-Coded Connector?

An M12 X-coded connector is the 8-pin M12 coding for Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Its four twisted pairs are separated by a cross-shaped shield that controls crosstalk at high speed, and it can carry Power over Ethernet with a suitable cable. It is defined in IEC 61076-2-109.

  6. What Is the Difference Between M8 and M12 Connectors?

M8 and M12 are circular industrial connectors named after their thread size: 8 mm and 12 mm. M8 is smaller, with 3 to 8 pins, and suits compact sensors and low-power signals. M12 is larger, with up to 12 pins and more coding options, and carries higher power and Ethernet, which is why industrial computers use it.

  7. What Is TAA Compliance?

TAA compliance means a product is wholly manufactured or substantially transformed in the United States or a TAA-designated country, as required by the Trade Agreements Act for many US federal and defence purchases. It is about country of origin, not US content levels, which is what the separate Buy American Act covers.
