MIC-712P-OX Overview
A multi-camera site usually needs a PoE switch as well as the computer: one more box to mount and power. The Advantech MIC-712P-OX powers the cameras itself through six Gigabit PoE ports with a 150 W total power budget and individual port control, in a fanless embedded computer of 160 x 160 x 70 mm. It is part of the MIC-712 series, pairing the PoE ports with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX, for video analytics, perimeter security and mobile equipment.
The MIC-712P-OX takes the Orin NX 16GB, with an eight-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and 16 GB of LPDDR5, or the 8GB module with six cores and 8 GB. Both carry a 1024-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor Cores, and Super mode on JetPack 6.2 raises the rating to up to 157 TOPS. The MIC-712P-OX4A1 (16GB) and MIC-712P-OX3A1 (8GB) ship with JetPack 6.2 on a 128 GB NVMe SSD, and the A2 builds come without an SSD.
Alongside the PoE ports are two further Gigabit Ethernet ports for the site network, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI output at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and micro USB ports for the debug console and OTG. Inside, an M.2 2230 E key socket takes Wi-Fi, an M.2 3052 B key socket takes an optional 5G module with a nano SIM slot or an optional eSIM, and an M.2 2280 NVMe socket on PCIe x4 sits beside a micro SD slot. A TPM 2.0 is optional, and out-of-band management is integrated within the system.
Power is 19 to 36 V DC, with an optional 230 W 24 V adapter. The MIC-712P-OX runs from -25 °C to 70 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow in 25 W power mode, or -25 °C to 50 °C in 40 W mode. Mounting brackets come in the box, and the system carries CE, FCC, UKCA, CB, UL, BSMI and CCC certifications. Without cameras to power, the MIC-712-OX is the slimmer 60 mm version, and the MIC-712P-ON brings the same PoE to the Orin Nano.
