Medical Grade Monitors

Medical Displays for Theatres, Wards and Clinical Carts

A medical grade monitor is designed to the IEC 60601-1 requirements for electrical equipment used near patients, so a touch screen can sit at the bedside, on a cart or in the operating theatre. Available from 15.6 to 32 inches with PCAP touch and a front IP65 face that wipes clean.

Options include 4K surgical monitors with 12G-SDI, full HD displays with VGA and HDMI, and medical panel PCs with an Intel Core processor behind the screen, suited to operating rooms, endoscopy, patient monitoring stations and clinical workstations.

Not sure which range fits? Tell us the application and we will recommend the right model.

What to Specify in a Medical Grade Touch Screen Monitor

A medical grade touch screen monitor is chosen on the standard it carries and where it sits in the clinic or theatre. Sealing, resolution, inputs and touch decide whether it suits the equipment it connects to.

IEC 60601-1 Approval

Check the IEC 60601-1 edition and collateral standards listed for each model against the equipment it will join.

Front IP65

A sealed front face and flat glass for wipe-down cleaning between patients, with no lip where fluids can collect.

4K or Full HD

4K panels for surgical video where detail matters, full HD for wards, carts and nurse stations.

Video Inputs

12G-SDI, DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA inputs on selected models, to suit the surgical camera or host computer.

PCAP Touch

Multi-touch through the protective glass for clinicians working at the screen, with a flush front that cleans easily.

Disinfectant-Safe Surfaces

Check the front glass and housing against the disinfectants used in your area, as cleaning routines vary by site.

Medical Grade Monitor Innovation & Surgical Display Insights

We specialize in displays and touch computers for clinical settings, from bedside terminals to operating theatres. Our team of embedded system design engineers recommends and configures medical grade monitors to the size, video inputs and approvals your device or ward needs. Discover how we help medical device OEMs put a compliant screen on the cart, or read our guides to display technology and IP ratings.
FAQ What a Medical Cart Needs From Its Display A medical cart is a mobile workstation that brings a computer and display to the patient, from records and telemedicine carts to endoscopy carts that show live video.
FAQ Medical Grade Power Supplies and Patient Safety A medical grade supply is certified to IEC 60601-1, with far lower leakage current and stronger isolation than an IT supply, typically 2 MOPP for equipment near patients.
FAQ MOOP and MOPP Protection Levels Compared MOOP protects the staff using the equipment and MOPP protects patients with stricter insulation tests, so a screen that may contact a patient typically needs 2 MOPP.
FAQ IEC 60601-1 Safety Standard for Medical Screens IEC 60601-1 sets basic safety and essential performance rules for medical electrical equipment, from shock and leakage current to insulation and fire, adopted in Europe as EN 60601-1.
FAQ What Is IEC 60601-1-2? IEC 60601-1-2 is the collateral standard to IEC 60601-1 that covers electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for medical electrical equipment. It limits the interference a device may emit and sets the immunity levels it must withstand from static, radio fields and mains disturbances while keeping its basic safety and essential performance. The current version is the 4th edition with Amendment 1.
FAQ What Is an Antimicrobial Coating? An antimicrobial coating is a surface treatment that stops bacteria, mould and some viruses from growing on a surface. It works by releasing agents such as silver ions or by killing microbes on contact. On medical computers it is usually built into the housing plastic or cover glass. It reduces contamination between cleans but does not replace disinfection.
