USB Frame Grabbers

USB3 Frame Grabbers for Vision Cameras and Multi-Camera Systems

A USB frame grabber is a PCIe USB expansion card built for cameras rather than peripherals: its ports are shared between dedicated host controllers, so several USB3 Vision cameras stream together instead of queuing on one bus. Available with four to eight USB 3 Type-A ports, including cards that carry an NVIDIA Jetson module to run AI on the camera feeds.

Options include USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports on the AI cards, jumper-selectable current for bus-powered cameras and software power switching on each port, suited to inspection cells, robot guidance, kiosks and lab imaging where a USB card for cameras must keep every stream running.

Speak to a frame grabber specialist to match the port count, controllers and host slot to your cameras.

USB Frame Grabber Ranges Configured by Things Embedded

We work with the leading manufacturers of USB 3 frame grabbers, so the ranges below are the ones we specify for inspection and robotics systems. Compare them by port count, controllers and onboard AI, then browse the cards above or ask a machine vision specialist which range suits your system.

No ranges are listed in this category yet.

Not sure which range fits? Tell us the application and we will recommend the right model.

What to Specify in a USB 3.0 PCIe Card

Our machine vision specialists specify every USB frame grabber against the cameras, the host system and the software that will use the images. These are the choices we work through with you before recommending a card.

Controllers and Bandwidth

Cameras on separate host controllers stream at the same time; count how many run together, not just the ports.

Port Count

Four ports for a small cell, six to eight for multi-camera inspection from one PCIe slot.

Onboard AI

Cards with a Jetson module run the vision model on the card and pass results to the host.

Host Slot

Check the PCIe lanes and bracket height against the free slot in the PC or edge system.

USB Frame Grabber Innovation & Vision Integration Insights

We specialize in bringing USB3 Vision cameras into industrial PCs and edge systems, from four-port USB 3.0 PCIe cards to AI frame grabbers with an onboard Jetson module. Our team of embedded system design engineers recommends and configures USB frame grabbers to the cameras, stream count and host your system needs.
