PCIe-USB381F Overview
Multi-camera USB3 vision systems can run short of bandwidth when several cameras share one host controller, and a camera that stops responding needs a way to be reset. The PCIe-USB381F is Neousys’s USB 3 frame grabber card for that problem: eight USB3 ports spread across four independent host controllers, with power control on the card.
Four Fresco FL1100SX xHCI controllers run the eight USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, which are backward compatible with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0. The card connects to the host over a four-lane Gen2 PCI Express interface with 2GB/s total bandwidth. With four USB3 cameras running at once, each port sustains up to 400 MB/s, and with eight cameras plugged in the card provides 1600 MB/s in total. All eight Type-A connectors sit on the faceplate for easy cabling.
An onboard regulated 5 V DC supply powers the connected cameras, so no external power is needed. Each port supplies a standard 900 mA, and onboard jumpers raise it to 1800 mA for devices that draw more. Software can switch power on or off per port to reset a camera, on ports 0 and 2 to 7. Neousys names machine vision, factory automation and medical imaging. For AI inspection on the card itself, the PCIe-NX156 series pairs six USB 3.2 ports with a Jetson Orin NX, as in the PCIe-NX156-JON16.
From the PCI Express bus the card draws a maximum of 2.0 A at 3.3 V, plus up to 5.5 A at 12 V for all connected USB devices. It operates from 0 to 60 °C with ambient airflow and uses a heat sink over the controllers. At 117.7 x 111.2 mm it is shorter than the other Neousys cards on this page. Neousys lists Windows 7 and Windows 10 support, and the controllers comply with Intel xHCI Specification Revision 1.0. The datasheet shows CE and FCC marks. We fit the card to vision systems we build, or supply it for your own host.

Official Neousys USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Neousys USA distributor, supplying the PCIe-USB381F for USA machine vision and medical imaging programs. Within the Neousys range the PCIe-NX156 series adds a Jetson Orin NX module to six USB 3.2 ports, and the PCIe-PoE-at series covers GigE cameras over PoE+.
As an eight-port USB3 card, the PCIe-USB381F sits among our USB 3 frame grabbers, our PCIe frame grabbers and our add-in cards. Where up to eight USB3 cameras need their own bandwidth and power control, this is the card to specify.
