FCCLNX-0800-M12-67 Overview
Where a switch is mounted on a machine, near liquids or in a dusty space, RJ45 plugs can work loose and an open case lets in dirt. The LNX-0800-M12-67 is the standard temperature build in the Antaira LNX-0800-M12-67 series: an industrial M12 unmanaged Ethernet switch in an IP67 plastic case.
It has eight 10/100Base-TX Fast Ethernet ports on 4-pin D-coded female M12 connectors, which screw into place and, in Antaira’s words, ensure a tight connection in applications subject to high vibration and shock, and in environments containing dust, liquid or gas. Switching is unmanaged and store-and-forward on a 1.6 Gbps switching fabric, with a 1K MAC address table, a 448 Kbit packet buffer, 1536-byte frames and IEEE 802.3x flow control, so there is nothing to set up.
Power arrives on redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs through a 5-pin A-coded male M12 connector, so the supply cable seals the same way as the data cables. The LNX-0800-M12-67 draws only 1.4 W, with reverse polarity and overload current protection on the input. Antaira quotes an MTBF of 243,867 hours to Telcordia SR-332, Issue 3.
The LNX-0800-M12-67 operates from -10 °C to 65 °C, which suits sheltered machine and plant areas. The IP67 plastic case mounts on a DIN rail or a wall. Shock, vibration and free-fall testing follow IEC 60068-2-27, IEC 60068-2-6 and IEC 60068-2-32. Antaira lists UL 61010-1 certification, FCC and CE marks, railway EMC compliance with EN 50121-4 and EN 50121-3-2, RoHS compliance and TAA and NDAA compliance, and the switch is covered by Antaira’s 5-year warranty. The LNX-0800-M12-67-T is the same switch rated -40 °C to 75 °C, the LNX-0500-M12-67 offers five M12 ports, and the LMX-1600G-M12-67-T brings managed gigabit switching to 16 M12 ports.
