Arestech PPC-N173P-1A1 17″ PCAP Industrial Panel PC with Intel Pentium N4200 and Front IP66 Aluminum Bezel

Operators at a machine or kiosk expect a touch screen to respond to a light tap, while the front of the unit has to take splashes and cleaning. The PPC-N173P-1A1 is the projected capacitive configuration on the Intel Pentium N4200 in the Arestech PPC-N173 series: a 17 inch fanless industrial panel PC with an aluminum front cover sealed to IP66.

The Intel Pentium N4200 is a quad-core processor running at up to 2.5 GHz, with two DDR3L-1866 SO-DIMM sockets for up to 8 GB, plus an M.2 2242 socket and an internal 2.5-inch SATA bay. That suits HMI software, kiosk applications and line data collection, with operating system support for Windows 10 IoT. The display is a 350 nit SXGA LCD at 1280 x 1024 with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 170° horizontal and 160° vertical viewing angles. Projected capacitive touch responds to a light bare-finger press.

Connections include two GbE ports on Intel i211AT controllers, three RS-232 ports and one RS-232/422/485 port, two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI 1.4b outputs for a second screen, line-out and 8-bit digital I/O. A full-size Mini-PCIe socket with a SIM slot takes optional 4G and wireless modules. The PPC-N173R-1A1 is the same build with 5-wire resistive touch, and the PPC-N173P-2A1 offers the same touch on the Intel Celeron N3350.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a two-pin Phoenix terminal block, at 15.8 W typical. The PPC-N173P-1A1 is fanless and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C at 5 to 95% humidity with extended-temperature memory and storage fitted. It is vibration-tested from 5 to 500 Hz at 2.16 Grms, carries CE and FCC Class A marks, measures 426 x 361 x 74 mm, weighs 4.86 kg and mounts in a 386 x 321 mm panel cut-out or on 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 mm VESA.
