Arestech PPC-N198P 19″ PCAP Industrial Panel PC with Intel Core i5-8265U and Front IP66 Aluminum Bezel

Operators at a machine or kiosk expect a touch screen to respond to a light tap, while the front of the unit has to take splashes and cleaning. The PPC-N198P is the projected capacitive configuration on the Intel Core i5-8265U in the Arestech PPC-N198 series: a 19 inch fanless industrial panel PC with an aluminum front cover sealed to IP66.

The Intel Core i5-8265U is a quad-core processor running at up to 3.9 GHz, with two DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM sockets for up to 32 GB, plus an M.2 2280 socket with PCIe x4 or SATA and an internal 2.5-inch bay, with RAID 0 and 1. That suits SCADA and MES clients, dashboards and HMI software with several windows open, with operating system support for Windows 10 IoT or Professional and Linux. The display is a 350 nit SXGA LCD at 1280 x 1024 with a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 160° viewing angles horizontally and vertically. Projected capacitive touch responds to a light bare-finger press.

Connections include two GbE ports on Intel i219V and i211AT controllers, three RS-232 ports and one RS-232/422/485 port, four USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI output for a second screen, line-out and mic-in and 8-bit digital I/O. A full-size Mini-PCIe socket with a SIM slot and an M.2 2230 E-key socket for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth take optional 4G and wireless modules. The PPC-N198R is the same build with 5-wire resistive touch.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a two-pin Phoenix terminal block, at 17.5 W typical. The PPC-N198P is fanless and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C at 5 to 95% humidity with extended-temperature memory and storage fitted. It is vibration-tested from 5 to 500 Hz at 2.16 Grms, shock-tested to 20 G under IEC 60068-2-27, carries CE and FCC Class A marks, measures 456 x 393 x 69 mm, weighs 5.73 kg and mounts in a panel or on 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 mm VESA.
