ASRock Industrial iEP-7020E-000 13th Gen Intel Core i5/i7 Fanless DIN Rail Controller with 3x GbE and 2.5-inch Bay

A controller at a remote pumping station or on an outdoor machine often has no wired backhaul and no heating in its cabinet. The ASRock Industrial iEP-7020E-000 covers both: it is the only model in the iEP-7020E series that takes a 4G LTE or 5G module, and it has the widest operating range in the family, -40 °C to 70 °C. As a fanless DIN rail controller it clips onto the same rail as the breakers and terminals it monitors.

Compute comes from a soldered 13th Gen Intel Core processor: the i7-1365URE or i5-1345URE at 15 W, or the i7-1370PRE or i5-1350PRE at 28 W. Intel Iris Xe graphics drives two DP++ 1.4a outputs for a local HMI, and two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 64 GB with In-Band ECC. Intel TCC and TSN support under Linux gives deterministic timing for control loops, with Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS both supported.

Three Intel i226-IT LAN ports with vPro, four RS-232/422/485 ports and a 15-pin D-sub with 4 DI/4 DO, remote power and reset handle field connections, alongside three USB 3.2 Gen2 ports and one USB 2.0 port. Storage covers a 2.5-inch 9.5 mm SATA3 bay, an M.2 2280 Key M socket and microSD, and on the iEP-7020E-000 the M.2 Key B socket can also take a SATA SSD when cellular is not needed. An M.2 Key E socket adds Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, and power enters through a 3-pin Phoenix-type terminal block for 9 to 36 V DC with OVP, UVP, OCP and 80 V surge protection.

The iEP-7020E-000 measures 55 x 170 x 134 mm and mounts on a DIN rail, a wall or a VESA bracket. This DIN rail controller is rated for 5 Grms vibration and 100 G shock with an SSD and meets CE and FCC Class A. Where the controller also has to power cameras, the iEP-7020E-001 adds two PoE ports, and the iEP-7020E-002 offers five LAN ports for multi-network cabinets.
