Multi-screen control desks and kiosk estates often need a small board that IT can manage remotely and that keeps data safe on mirrored drives. The IMB-1231 is ASRock Industrial’s Mini-ITX motherboard for that job: an LGA1700 board on the Intel Q670 chipset for 12th Gen Intel Core processors, with Intel vPro, AMT and VMD RAID support on a 170 mm square board.
The socket takes 12th Gen (Alder Lake-S) Intel Core processors up to 65 W, and two DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM sockets run in dual channel for up to 64 GB. Intel UHD Graphics drives HDMI 2.0b and two DisplayPort 1.4a outputs at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, VGA at up to 1920 x 1200 and an internal LVDS or eDP connector, with up to four displays at once.
Two Intel I225LM controllers give two 2.5GbE ports, with AMT and vPro on LAN1. The rear carries four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and two RS-232/422/485 ports, and internal headers add two USB 3.2 Gen 1, four USB 2.0, three RS-232 and 4-in/4-out GPIO. Storage covers an M.2 M key on PCIe Gen3 x4, a second M.2 M key (2242) on PCIe Gen4 x4 or SATA and four SATA 6Gb/s ports, with Intel VMD RAID 0/1/5/10. The PCIe x16 (Gen 4) slot supports an x8/x8 riser, an M.2 E key takes Wi-Fi and an M.2 B key with SIM takes 4G. The IMB-1230 is the H610 model with triple display, and the IMB-1314 moves to Micro-ATX with 13th Gen support.
Power comes from an ATX 24+4-pin supply or a 12 V DC input, with AT and ATX modes. The board operates from 0 to 60 °C and stores from -40 to 85 °C at 5 to 90% humidity, and carries a TPM 2.0 chip, a 256-segment watchdog timer and Realtek ALC897 audio. It measures 170 x 170 mm on the Mini-ITX footprint.
