ASRock Industrial IMB-1254-WV Intel Core Series 3 Wildcat Lake Mini-ITX SBCs with In-Band ECC and 9-28V DC

A lot of embedded equipment is powered from a DC rail rather than an ATX supply, and keeps its serial wiring inside the enclosure rather than on the rear panel. The ASRock Industrial IMB-1254-WV series is laid out for that kind of build: Mini-ITX SBCs on Intel Core Processors Series 3 (Wildcat Lake-U) that take 9 to 28 V DC straight into a rear jack and put all four COM ports on internal headers.

Every IMB-1254-WV board has one DDR5 SO-DIMM socket at 6400 MHz for up to 64 GB, with Intel In-Band ECC supported on both processors. Networking uses Intel controllers on both ports: an I226V for 2.5GbE and an I210AT for Gigabit. Two HDMI 2.0b outputs sit on the rear, an LVDS or eDP connector drives an internal panel, and an internal USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C header carries DisplayPort 1.4a, for up to three displays. The four COM headers give COM1 RS-232/422/485, COM2 and COM3 RS-232 and COM4 as RS-232, TTL 5 V or ccTalk by jumper, with four GPI and four GPO alongside. A PCIe x1 Gen4 slot, an M.2 Key M socket on PCIe x1 Gen4 for NVMe, two SATA3 ports and an M.2 Key E socket for an optional Wi-Fi module handle expansion, and an on-board OOB function is optional.

There are two models. The IMB-1254M-WV uses the Core 5 320 with six cores (two Performance and four Low Power Efficient) for heavier application loads. The IMB-1254E-WV uses the Core 3 304 with five cores (one Performance and four Low Power Efficient) for single-application equipment. Both are rated at 15 W and bring a newer Intel generation than the 12th Gen Core processors of the IMB-1234 series.

In practice the IMB-1254-WV series suits manufacturing equipment, digital signage and light industrial controllers that run from a DC supply. The rear jack takes 9 to 28 V DC, with a 12 V only build as a BOM option and AT and ATX power-on modes. The boards are rated from -20 °C to 70 °C operating and -40 °C to 85 °C storage, with a TPM header and Intel PTT. Windows 11 and Linux are supported, and we supply these Mini-ITX SBCs configured and tested with memory, storage and the OS image fitted before they ship.
