ASRock Industrial IMB-1715 Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Q870 ATX Embedded Motherboard with vPro, Dual Thunderbolt 4 and 6x COM

Kiosks, digital signage controllers and machine control builds often need a board that can be managed remotely, drive several screens and still take a handful of cards. The ASRock Industrial IMB-1715 is a Q870 ATX embedded motherboard for Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, and it may suit those builds where ECC memory is not a requirement.

The LGA1851 socket takes Core Ultra Series 2 (Arrow Lake-S) processors up to 125 W, with power limits up to 252 W supported. Four DDR5 Long-DIMM slots hold up to 256 GB of memory, at 6400 MHz with CU-DIMMs or 5600 MHz with U-DIMMs. Intel Xe graphics drive up to four displays, and the Q870 chipset brings Intel vPro with AMT for remote management. Windows 11 and Linux are supported.

Expansion is two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, running as one x16 or two x8, two PCIe 4.0 x4 slots and two PCIe 4.0 x1 slots, with support for an optional ASRock Rack PAUL card for IPMI. Two M.2 M key sockets (PCIe 5.0 x4 and PCIe 4.0 x4) and four SATA 6Gb/s ports carry storage, with Intel VMD RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10, and M.2 E key and B key sockets take optional wireless or expansion cards. The rear panel has two HDMI 2.1, one DisplayPort 1.4a, two Gigabit LAN ports (Intel I219LM with vPro and Intel I210AT), five USB 3.2 Gen 2 and a Thunderbolt 4 port, with a second Thunderbolt 4 connector inside. Six COM ports include two RS-232/422/485 at the rear and a COM3 with TTL and ccTalk modes.

The IMB-1715 is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C, runs from an ATX supply in AT or ATX mode, and carries a TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer. We supply it with the processor, memory and storage fitted and tested, on its own or built into a complete system. The IMB-X1715 adds the W880 chipset with ECC memory and a third PCIe x4 slot, and the IMB-1317 brings the Q870 to Micro-ATX.
