Avalue ACP-X6L12H-A1R-00 NXP i.MX 6DualLite Cortex-A9 Arm Single Board Computer with 12 to 24 V DC Input and 1GB DDR3 Memory

Many ticket machines, vending units and single-purpose tills run one application on one screen, with a second display facing the customer. The ACP-X6L12H-A1R-00 is the dual-core build in the Avalue ACP-IMX6POS series, an NXP i.MX 6DualLite Cortex-A9 Arm single board computer that keeps the series’ touch, serial and cash drawer connections on the same 175 x 110 mm board.

The NXP i.MX 6DualLite has two Arm Cortex-A9 cores at 1 GHz, matched with 1 GB of DDR3 memory soldered to the board and 4 GB of eMMC. That suits a lean Android or Linux image running one application, where power draw and heat stay modest. Avalue lists Android 4.4.2, Ubuntu 12.04 and Yocto 1.5.1, and the processor’s watchdog timer can restart a stalled terminal without a site visit.

Displays connect through HDMI and 24-bit dual-channel LVDS, running together at up to 1920 x 1080 for an operator panel and an external screen. Two DB9 ports carry RS-232/422/485 and two internal headers carry RS-232 for printers, scanners and payment terminals. The board also has one GbE RJ45 port, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, a Mini USB OTG port, three internal USB 2.0 headers, an onboard Penmount 6000 controller for 5-wire resistive touch and an RJ11 cash drawer port. A full-size mPCIe slot with USB signals and a SIM socket take an optional wireless module.

Power is 12 to 24 V DC on a barrel connector, operating temperature is 0 to 60 °C and the board carries CE and FCC compliance, so the ACP-X6L12H-A1R-00 fits shops, cafés, cinemas and ticket halls. Where the design needs a VGA output or more processing headroom, the quad-core ACP-X6Q12J-A1R-00 adds both with 2 GB of memory.
