AVerMedia CN311-H M.2 HDMI Capture Card with 4K30 Input

The CN311-H is AVerMedia's single-channel HDMI frame grabber on an M.2 card, capturing up to 4096 x 2160 at 30 fps, with the HDMI connector on a small I/O board joined by a micro coaxial cable. It suits compact embedded PCs with a spare M.2 M-Key slot rather than a PCIe slot, in industrial, medical and education systems.

  • M.2 Card with Remote HDMI Board: The HDMI Type A connector sits on a separate I/O board linked by micro coaxial cable, so it can sit at the chassis wall.
  • 4K30 HDMI Capture: Input and recording up to 4096 x 2160 at 30 fps, with 1920 x 1080 accepted at up to 120 fps.
  • 8-Bit and 10-Bit Formats: YUV 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 plus RGB output, including the 10-bit V410, Y410, V210 and Y210 formats.
  • Hardware Video Processing: On-card scaling, de-interlacing and color space conversion, with multi-card support for more than one HDMI channel.
  • PCIe Gen2 x2 at 3.8 W: Draws 3.8 W on a PCIe Gen2 x2 link, rated from 0 °C to 40 °C, with Windows and Linux V4L2 drivers.

CN311-H Overview

Compact embedded PCs often have a spare M.2 slot but no room for a PCIe card, which rules out a conventional frame grabber. The AVerMedia CN311-H fits that gap: a single-channel HDMI capture card in M.2 form, with the HDMI connector on a separate I/O board joined by a micro coaxial cable. AVerMedia positions it for industrial, medical, education and enterprise applications. If you need an SDI input as well, the CN312MN pairs HDMI with 2K SDI in the same M.2 format, and the CL314H1 is the PCIe choice for four HDMI sources.

The CN311-H accepts HDMI 1.4a and DVI-D 1.0 sources at up to 4096 x 2160 and 30 fps, and records at that resolution. The input list extends to 1920 x 1080 at up to 120 fps and 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps, while output resolution runs up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps, with a bypass mode for higher resolutions. Hardware scaling, de-interlacing and color space conversion run on the card. Formats cover 8-bit and 10-bit YUV 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 plus RGB, including V410, Y410, V210 and Y210.

The card connects over PCIe Gen2 x2 in an M.2 2280 M-Key slot and draws 3.8 W. Audio is embedded in the HDMI signal at 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz. Multi-card operation is supported, and AVerMedia provides Windows drivers and Linux V4L2 drivers for x86 and x64 hosts.

The CN311-H is rated from 0 °C to 40 °C in operation and -30 °C to 80 °C in storage, at 0% to 95% RH, with FCC and CE marks. The package includes the I/O board and the HDMI micro coaxial cable. We supply the CN311-H fitted and tested in the host computer it will run in, with the I/O board mounted, drivers installed and capture checked before it ships.
