AVerMedia QL601B Qualcomm QCS6490 (Dragonwing) Fanless Edge AI Box PC with Hexagon NPU and 4G/5G Options

Retail analytics, smart city cabinets and autonomous mobile robot projects often need on-device AI in a small unit with no fan to service. The AVerMedia QL601B is a fanless box PC built on the Qualcomm Dragonwing QCS6490 board used in the QL601, enclosed in a finned chassis with mounting brackets and a DC jack on the front. It is part of the QL601 series.

AVerMedia rates the QCS6490 at 12.5 TOPS, which can run vision models for counting, detection or navigation next to the application itself. Memory is 8 GB LPDDR4 with 128 GB UFS 2.2 and a microSD slot. Two 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 camera inputs are available on Linux and Android builds, and USB cameras are supported too. For lighter workloads, the QL501 Box PC is the matching fanless embedded PC with the QCS5430 at around 3.5 TOPS.

Wireless is built in, with 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6E (FCC only) and Bluetooth 5.2, and an M.2 Key B socket with Micro SIM slot takes an optional 4G or 5G module (not available under Windows 11 IoT). The front panel carries one GbE port on RJ45, 2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI 2.0 at 3840 x 2160 and 60 Hz, DisplayPort at 1920 x 1080 and a mic-in/line-out jack. Order codes add an OOB board, AVerMedia’s PCIe-to-Ethernet board for a second RJ45 port, or an 802.3af PSE board to power PoE devices.

The QL601B is rated from -10 °C to 55 °C and runs from 9-20 V DC through the front DC jack, with a 12 V adapter and power cord supplied. AVerMedia lists CE, FCC, KC and VCCI marks and RoHS, with Qualcomm Linux 1.3, Ubuntu 20.04, Windows 11 IoT LTSC or Android 13 chosen by order code. We supply the QL601B with the OS loaded, any optional cellular module and antennas fitted, and the unit tested before it ships.
