Axiomtek CAPA13S-3GA-V1605B 3.5″ SBC with AMD Ryzen Embedded V1605B, Triple GbE LAN and eDP

A kiosk, information screen or operator panel often needs an eDP display, sound and several network links from one small board. The CAPA13S-3GA-V1605B is the three-LAN V1605B build in the Axiomtek CAPA13S series: a 3.5 inch SBC with an onboard AMD Ryzen Embedded APU, an eDP output for an integrated panel, an onboard audio codec and three Gigabit Ethernet ports, shipped with a fan.

The AMD Ryzen Embedded V1605B runs at 2.0 to 3.6 GHz with 2 MB cache in a 15 W envelope, a good fit for signage and HMI software. One DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB. AMD Radeon RX Vega graphics share system memory and drive one DisplayPort++, two HDMI outputs and an eDP connector, with quad-view 4K/2K display support, so one board can run a built-in screen and external displays together.

Three Gigabit Ethernet ports on Realtek RTL8111G controllers support Wake-on-LAN and PXE boot. A Realtek ALC662 HD codec provides mic-in, line-in and line-out. Two USB 3.2 Gen2 and two USB 2.0 ports, one RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port and 8-channel programmable digital I/O cover peripherals. Storage runs from an M.2 Key B socket (SATA, USB 2.0, optional PCIe x2) in 2242 or 3042 and a SATA-600 port, and an M.2 Key E socket (PCIe x1, USB 2.0) takes a 2230 card. The CAPA13S-GGA-V1605B is the same board with two LAN ports, and the CAPA13S-3GA-V1807B keeps three ports with the 45 W V1807B.

Power is 12 V DC only on a 2 x 2-pin connector, with AT auto power on, and Axiomtek quotes a minimum RMS draw of 12 V at 3.1 A with 16 GB of DDR4. TPM 2.0 on an ST ST33HTPH2E32AHB4 chip and a 255-level watchdog timer suit systems that run unattended. The board is fan-cooled as ordered, operates from -20 to 60 °C at 10 to 95% humidity, non-condensing, and measures 146 x 104 mm, with a heatspreader available as an accessory.
