Axiomtek tBOX520-ADL-MR Intel 12th Gen Core i3/i5/i7 Fanless Train Computer with EN 50155 and EN 45545-2

Train systems vary more in their I/O than in their compute: one fleet wants four isolated serial ports, another wants CAN, another wants eight PoE cameras on M12. Building a different computer for each is costly to certify and support. The tBOX520-ADL-MR is a train computer from Axiomtek that handles this with a fixed core and two slots for value-added I/O modules.

Processing comes from 12th Gen Intel Core: the i7-1265UE, i5-1245UE or i3-1215UE, with a Celeron 7305E option and 13th Gen by request. Two DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM slots take up to 64GB, and TPM 2.0 is on board. That suits CCTV recording and management, passenger information and train-to-ground gateways. The train computer supports Ubuntu 22.04, Windows 10 and Windows 11, with Axiomtek EAPI.

The base I/O is one Intel I226-IT 2.5GbE port, a DB9 serial console or RS-232/422/485 port, two HDMI 1.4b outputs at 4K, four USB 3.0 ports and audio. The two VAM slots take modules for four isolated COM ports, four isolated CAN ports, isolated 8-in/8-out DIO, four BNC video inputs, Mini Card expansion or four LAN ports on M12 A-coded, M12 X-coded, M12 D-coded or RJ-45, with PoE+ available on the PoE builds. The tBOX520-ADL-MR has two swappable 2.5 inch SATA drives with RAID 0 and 1, an M.2 NVMe slot, an M.2 Key B slot for 5G or LTE, a Mini Card slot, an M.2 slot for Wi-Fi 6 and two Nano SIM slots.

Power is 24 to 110 V DC on an M12 connector. The tBOX520-ADL-MR is EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 certified, meets EN 61373, runs fanless from -40 to 70 °C with wide-temperature peripherals, and measures 321 x 210.2 x 73.3 mm at 3.9 kg. For lighter loads, the tBOX110 series offers Atom-based rail computers.
