DFI ADN171-CB-N100 Intel N100 Mini-ITX Motherboard with Dual 2.5GbE and Triple Display

Kiosks, signage players and operator stations usually need several screens, a couple of network ports and a supply the enclosure already has. The ADN171-CB-N100 covers that brief as the Intel N100 build in the DFI ADN171 family of Mini-ITX motherboards, with three display outputs on the rear panel.

The Intel N100 belongs to the Alder Lake-N family and pairs with Intel UHD Graphics, which decode HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware for signage and video playback. Memory is one DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM of up to 16 GB. Where a stated power budget matters, the ADN171-CB-N200 is a quad-core 6 W build, and the ADN171-CB-N97 gives four cores at 12 W with 32 GB memory support and the same triple-display layout.

Two DisplayPort outputs reach 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and the USB-C port adds a third display with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15 W power delivery. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0 headers connect touch controllers, printers and scanners. Two Intel I226V 2.5GbE ports, six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232) and an 8-bit DIO handle networking and field I/O, while an M.2 B-key with Nano SIM, an M.2 E-key, two SATA 3.0 ports and a PCIe x4 slot at x2 Gen3 take storage, wireless and expansion.

The ADN171-CB-N100 runs from 12 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -5 to 65 °C on a passive heatsink. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance, includes a dTPM and watchdog timer, and supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux.
