DFI ADN173-CB-i3-N305 8-Core Intel Core i3-N305 Mini-ITX SBC with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Dual 2.5GbE

Vision inspection on a machine usually means cameras on one network, results on another and a 24 V supply feeding everything. The ADN173-CB-i3-N305 is the eight-core Mini-ITX SBC in the DFI ADN173 range, bringing the most compute in the family to a board that takes 9 to 36 V DC directly.

The Intel Core i3-N305 runs eight Alder Lake-N cores at up to 3.8 GHz in a 15 W TDP, and the passive heatsink handles it without a fan. Intel UHD Graphics decode HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware, which helps with multi-stream video, and memory is one DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM of up to 16 GB. If the application needs more memory than cores, the quad-core ADN173-CB-N97 supports 32 GB at 12 W, and the ADN173-CB-x7213E gives two Atom cores with the same 32 GB ceiling.

Two Intel I226V 2.5GbE ports keep camera traffic and the uplink on separate interfaces. DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0 are on the rear with three USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 2.0 Type-A, and inside are four USB 2.0 headers, six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, four RS-232) and an 8-bit DIO for triggers, lights and reject gates. The M.2 B-key takes an SSD or cellular module with its Nano SIM, the M.2 E-key a Wi-Fi card, and a PCIe x4 slot at x2 Gen3 plus two SATA 3.0 ports handle an I/O card and extra storage.

The ADN173-CB-i3-N305 takes 9 to 36 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -5 to 65 °C, so it belongs in indoor machine enclosures rather than outdoor cabinets. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance and supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux.
