DFI ADP253-BCI-80I765UE Intel Core i7-1265UE 4″ Embedded Board with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Triple LAN

A process operator’s console rarely stops at one screen. A SCADA overview, a trend display, a camera view and an alarm list can each take a monitor, and the computer behind them still has to poll serial devices. The ADP253-BCI-80I765UE is the Core i7 standard-temperature build in the DFI ADP253 series of 4″ embedded boards, with the graphics and cores for that kind of four-screen desk.

Its Intel Core i7-1265UE (12th Gen Alder Lake) runs 10 cores and 12 threads at 1.7 to 4.7 GHz within 15 W, and DFI quotes around 24 W typical board power with this processor. Memory is 8 GB of DDR4 soldered on the board plus one DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot taking up to 32 GB. Intel Iris Xe graphics drive HDMI at up to 4096 x 2160, VGA at up to 1920 x 1200 and two USB-C ports with DisplayPort Alt Mode, for four independent displays, and support DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.6 and Vulkan 1.2. Intel AMT gives remote power control and recovery.

One 2.5GbE port and two GbE ports on Intel I226 separate the console from the plant and camera networks. Six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232) and 8-bit DIO shared with COM3 reach PLCs and instruments. Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and two USB 2.0 headers take a keyboard and touch screens, a Realtek ALC888S codec handles alarm audio, and three M.2 slots and a SATA 3.0 port take an SSD, a 4G or 5G module and Wi-Fi.

The ADP253-BCI-80I765UE runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a locking barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates fanless from -5 to 65 °C. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance and a discrete TPM 2.0. For a desk or cabinet that sees frost or heat, ADP253-ETI-80I765UE is the same processor rated from -30 to 80 °C, and ADP253-BCI-80I545UE offers 10 cores at lower clocks.
