DFI EC70A-ADP4022TC3F-i765UE8 Intel Alder Lake Core i7 Embedded Box PC with Fan, 2x USB-C and Wide Temperature

Multi-screen work in a warm enclosure asks for two things at once: display outputs and thermal headroom. The EC70A-ADP4022TC3F-i765UE8 is the fan-cooled Intel Core i7-1265UE build of the DFI EC70A-ADP series with two USB-C ports with DisplayPort alt mode, running the processor at 28 W and rated from -20 °C to 70 °C.

The Core i7-1265UE has 10 cores and 12 threads with a boost clock of up to 4.7 GHz, set to 28 W with the fitted fan. Intel Iris Xe Graphics handles the displays and hardware decode for AV1, H.265 and H.264. Memory is 8 GB on-board plus one DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM slot that takes up to 32 GB. Intel AMT is supported on this build for remote management. DFI lists Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise and Linux, with TPM 2.0 and a watchdog timer.

Networking is one 2.5GbE port and two GbE ports. COM1 and COM2 are RS-232/422/485 and COM4 is RS-232, all on DB9, while COM3 is RS-232 or 8-bit DIO by jumper. Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports sit beside two USB-C ports with DisplayPort alt mode, so with HDMI at 4K 30 Hz and DP at 4K 60 Hz up to four displays can run at once. Inside are an M.2 2280 M key slot for a PCIe x4 or SATA SSD, an M.2 3042/3052 B key slot with a SIM slot for an optional 4G or 5G module, and an M.2 2230 E key slot for optional Wi-Fi.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a DC jack, which suits 12 V and 24 V cabinet supplies. With its fan the build is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C with a wide-temperature SSD. The EC70A-ADP aluminum enclosure fits a wall, a VESA bracket or a DIN rail, and the EC70A-ADP4022TC3F-i765UE8 is tested to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-64 vibration, with CE, FCC Class A, UKCA and KC listed. The fanless EC70A-ADP4022TC3-i765UE8 has the same I/O for cooler sites, and the EC70A-ADP4043F-i765UE8 is the fan build with four USB-A ports.
