DFI TGU173-IE-1145GRE Quad-Core Intel Core i5-1145GRE Mini-ITX SBC with 9 to 36 V DC Input and -20 to 70 °C

A depot or yard control unit may be fed from a 24 V panel one day and a vehicle supply the next, and it still has to connect scanners, a cellular link and a screen. The TGU173-IE-1145GRE is the Core i5 build in the DFI TGU173 series of Mini-ITX SBCs, pairing four cores with a 9 to 36 V DC input and a -20 to 70 °C range.

Its Intel Core i5-1145GRE (11th Gen, Tiger Lake) has four cores at 1.5 GHz, bursting to 4.1 GHz, with 8 MB cache, a 15 to 28 W TDP and Intel vPro. Two DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMMs take up to 64 GB with in-band ECC support. Intel Iris Xe Graphics drives five display outputs, four active at once: rear HDMI, DP++ and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode at up to 3840 x 2160, internal eDP and dual-channel LVDS.

For networking, two GbE ports on Intel I211AT or I210IT controllers and one 2.5GbE port on an Intel I225LM or I225IT controller split the site LAN, a camera or device network and a maintenance port. Four rear USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 headers take scanners and storage, and two RS-232/422/485 ports, two RS-232 ports with power and 8-bit DIO connect telematics units, barriers and sensors. The M.2 B-key takes a 4G or 5G module with its Nano-SIM socket, the E-key takes CNVi Wi-Fi, and the M.2 M-key runs NVMe at PCIe Gen4 x4.

The TGU173-IE-1145GRE runs from 9 to 36 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -20 to 70 °C, a wide temperature range, with its active cooler, with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. The TGU173-IE-1185GRE adds clock speed and cache for vision work, and TGU173-IB-6305E is the 15 W Celeron option for indoor use.
