DFI VC500-CMS-A1000-POE-Q-i70 Intel Core i7-10700TE In-Vehicle Computer with 4x PoE and NVIDIA RTX A1000 MXM

When the same analytics build goes into dozens of vehicles, a fixed processor and GPU make validation and spares far simpler. The VC500-CMS-A1000-POE-Q-i70 is that build of the DFI VC500-CMS-MXM series: an in-vehicle computer with a Core i7-10700TE, an NVIDIA RTX A1000 MXM GPU and four PoE ports, running on 9 to 50 V DC.

The Core i7-10700TE has eight cores at up to 4.4 GHz within 35 W on the Intel Q470E chipset, with DDR4-2933 on two SO-DIMMs up to 64 GB and Intel AMT on the I219LM port for remote management. The NVIDIA RTX A1000 is an Ampere MXM module, which DFI lists as Type A or B compatible, and it suits multi-stream detection and classification on the camera feeds. With it fitted, four DisplayPort outputs come from the GPU alongside a DP++/HDMI combo and two DP++ from the processor. It runs Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise or Ubuntu 20.04.

The four PoE ports support IEEE 802.3af at up to 15.4 W per port. Two GbE ports on RJ45, four RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port, eight USB 3.1 Gen 2, 8-bit isolated DI and DO at 2 kV and audio are standard, with two CAN ports and a DFI out-of-band RJ45 port as options. Two swappable 2.5″ SATA bays with lock support RAID 0/1, an M.2 2280 slot (PCIe Gen3 x4) takes an NVMe boot drive, and M.2 and mini PCIe slots take optional 5G, Wi-Fi or CAN modules.

Power is 9 to 50 V DC with ignition on a 3W3 connector. The VC500-CMS-A1000-POE-Q-i70 runs from -20 °C to 60 °C with passive cooling (without turbo boost, DFI notes), with fan cooling optional on request, is shock and vibration tested to MIL-STD-810G and wall mounts; DFI lists FCC, E-Mark compliance, CE, RoHS and UKCA.
