DFI WL171-NB-4305UE Intel Celeron 4305UE Mini-ITX Mainboard with Dual GbE and Triple Display

Thin clients, line terminals and fixed-function controllers often run the same application for years. They need steady performance and current I/O more than burst clock speed. The WL171-NB-4305UE is the Celeron build in the DFI WL171 series of Mini-ITX mainboards, with a 12 V DC input and a -5 to 65 °C rating for indoor sites.

The Intel Celeron 4305UE (Whiskey Lake) has two cores at a fixed 2.0 GHz, with 2 MB of cache in a 15 W TDP. A fixed clock keeps performance steady for a terminal or a simple control task. Two DDR4 SO-DIMM slots take up to 32 GB, running at 2133 MHz with this processor. Intel UHD Graphics 610 drives three independent displays from two rear DP++ outputs at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz and a dual-channel LVDS header.

Two GbE ports on Intel I210AT and I219LM controllers, four rear USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports and four internal USB 2.0 headers cover networking and peripherals. One RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port on internal headers, plus 8-bit DIO, connect printers, scanners and indicators. An M.2 M-key with PCIe x4 takes an NVMe SSD, two SATA 3.0 ports support RAID 0, 1 and 5, an M.2 E-key (2230) takes Wi-Fi, and a PCIe x4 Gen3 slot takes an add-in card.

The WL171-NB-4305UE runs from 12 V DC on a barrel connector or 4-pin header and operates from -5 to 65 °C, with a discrete TPM 2.0 and a watchdog. Intel vPro and AMT are not supported on this build. For higher burst clocks at the same temperature rating, WL171-NB-8145UE uses the Core i3-8145UE, and WL171-NE-8365UE adds four cores, vPro and a -20 to 70 °C rating.
