Forecr MILBOARD-AGXMAX NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Military-Grade Carrier Boards with 10GbE and Isolated I/O

Defense and aerospace electronics are usually built into an enclosure the integrator designs, so the carrier board has to bring the security, isolation and long-life features that a finished computer would otherwise provide. The Forecr MILBOARD-AGXMAX series is a military-grade carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin that does that on a 150 x 140 mm board rated from -40 to +85 °C.

Networking is one 10G Ethernet port and three Gigabit Ethernet ports, all on a single Samtec ARF6 high-speed connector for a locking cable harness. Field interfaces are isolated: four software-configurable RS-232/422 ports, two CAN FD ports with switchable termination and eight digital I/O lines at 3.3 V level. An HDMI 2.0 output, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB 2.0 ports and a USB 2.0 serial console complete the I/O. Each MILBOARD-AGXMAX carries 64 GB of eMMC 5.1, two M.2 Key-M 2280 slots for PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSDs and a full-size SD card slot, with a TPM 2.0 security chip, an EEPROM, a 6-axis IMU, a temperature sensor and an external RTC that Forecr rates for over ten years on its battery. Cameras connect through a 120-pin Samtec camera expansion slot for up to 4x 4-lane or 6x 2-lane MIPI CSI; GMSL2, HD-SDI and analog video are add-on options through that slot rather than connectors on the board.

The series has three variants, one for each module we fit. The MILBOARD-AGXMAX-32GB carries the Jetson AGX Orin 32GB at 200 TOPS, the MILBOARD-AGXMAX-64GB carries the 64GB module at 275 TOPS for larger models and more camera streams, and the MILBOARD-AGXMAX-IND carries the Jetson AGX Orin Industrial, rated by NVIDIA for -40 to +85 °C to match the board.

Power is 12-36 V DC with a 28 V nominal input on a four-pin Molex connector, and the fan header runs at 11 V or 5 V. There is no wireless on the board. Forecr lists Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 with JetPack 5.x and 6.x. The MILBOARD-AGXMAX series suits mission computers, unmanned vehicles, airborne payloads and other defense builds where isolated I/O and 10G Ethernet are both on the requirement.
