Giada SDM-L613 Intel 13th Gen Core SDM-L Smart Display Modules with 8K and 2.5GbE

Display makers are moving from the OPS slot to the Intel Smart Display Module, a smaller slot-in PC standard that connects through a PCIe x8 edge connector and leaves more room inside the screen. The Giada SDM-L613 series is a range of 13th Gen Intel Core modules in the large SDM-L form factor. Each module plugs into a compatible display, which then gains a full Windows 11 or Linux PC behind its own rear cover, with no external box to mount or cable.

Every SDM-L613 uses a 15 W Raptor Lake U-series processor with two SO-DIMM slots for up to 64 GB of DDR5-5200 and an M.2 2280 socket for a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD. The edge connector passes HDMI and DisplayPort at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz to the display, plus USB 3.2 Gen1, UART, GSPI, I2C and PCIe. The rear bracket adds an HDMI 2.1 port at up to 7680 x 4320 at 60 Hz with 8K60 HEVC and VP9 decode, Intel I225-LM 2.5GbE and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen1, and a watchdog timer and auto power-on help a display recover without a site visit.

The SDM-L613 range splits by processor. The SDM-L613-1315U uses the Core i3-1315U with six cores and Intel UHD Graphics, a good fit for content playback. The SDM-L613-1335U moves to the Core i5-1335U with 10 cores, 12 threads and Intel Iris Xe graphics. The SDM-L613-1345U uses the Core i5-1345U, the vPro-capable part in the series, for fleets managed remotely, and the SDM-L613-1355U uses the Core i7-1355U with Iris Xe graphics for heavier multi-application work. All four share the same board, memory, storage and I/O, so the choice comes down to your content and how the fleet is managed.

In practice the SDM-L613 series suits interactive displays in meeting rooms and classrooms, retail and corporate signage and 8K content. Each Giada module has two USB 3.2 Gen2 and two USB 2.0 ports on the bracket, mic-in and audio-out, and an M.2 E-Key socket for an optional Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 module, with optional TPM 2.0. Power is 12 V DC from the DC input or through the SDM interface, and the rated range is 0 °C to 60 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow and humidity up to 95% non-condensing.
