Neousys NRU-154-JON8 Jetson Orin NX 8GB Flattop Fanless Edge AI Computer with 4x 2.5GbE PoE+

Inspection points in metal shops, bakeries and roadside cabinets are often sealed against dust and water, which leaves no airflow for a finned computer. The NRU-154-JON8 sits flat against the enclosure wall and powers four cameras directly. It is the 8 GB PoE+ build of the Neousys NRU-150-FT series of fanless edge AI computers, with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8GB module and a flattop heatsink.

The Orin NX 8GB module has 8 GB of LPDDR5 at 3200 MHz and runs the NVIDIA JetPack toolchain, which suits defect detection, counting and classification on a modest number of streams. The NRU-154-JON8 ships with a 128 GB NVMe drive in the M.2 2242 socket at PCIe Gen4 x2, carrying a pre-installed system image, so it boots ready for application work.

Four 2.5GbE ports by Intel I226-IT or I225-IT supply 802.3at PoE+ from a 50 W total budget, with screw-lock retention, and each port has full bandwidth for its camera. A separate GbE port links the plant network. Serial I/O is one RS-232 port and one isolated RS-485 port, with two USB 2.0 ports, a micro USB OTG port inside and a DisplayPort output at 3840 x 2160. Neousys advises limiting the operating temperature to 60 °C when running 2.5G link speeds. Where larger models or more streams are planned, the NRU-154-JON16 moves to the 16 GB module.

Power is 12 V DC. Mounted on a 50 x 50 cm metal plate or cabinet, the NRU-154-JON8 runs from -25 °C to 60 °C in 20 W mode with no throttling, or -25 °C to 45 °C without that conduction. Vibration and shock are tested to MIL-STD-810H, and the 116 x 171 x 27 mm chassis weighs 1.0 kg.
