Neu-X100-N4200 Overview
Retail screens and kiosks often need a little more graphics performance than an entry Celeron offers, without giving up a low power budget inside a sealed housing. The Neu-X100-N4200 is a Fanless Industrial PC from the Nexcom Neu-X100 series, built on the Intel Pentium N4200 in a slim 37 mm case. It suits retail screens, kiosks and smart city gateways, and its sibling, the Neu-X100-N3350, uses the Celeron N3350 for the lowest power draw.
The Intel Pentium N4200 is an Apollo Lake processor running at up to 2.5 GHz within 6 W, with Intel HD Graphics 505. One DDR3L SO-DIMM socket takes up to 8 GB at 1866 MHz, and an M.2 2242 Key M SSD holds the operating system and applications. Windows 10 64-bit and Linux are supported on the Neu-X100-N4200.
The front panel carries two GbE ports, two HDMI 2.0 outputs at 4096 x 2160 and 60 Hz, two USB 3.0 ports, an RS232/422/485 port and a locking DC jack. Inside are an RS232 connector, line-out and a TPM module connector, and a full-size mini-PCIe socket with a full-size SIM slot takes a Wi-Fi or LTE module, with two antenna holes on the rear. Nexcom also offers AIBooster mini-PCIe cards with Intel Movidius Myriad X VPUs for vision tasks on the Neu-X100-N4200.
This Fanless Industrial PC runs from -5 °C to 50 °C on a 19 V DC input, with a 45 W locking adapter, and measures 179.5 x 106 x 37 mm, small enough to sit behind a screen or inside a kiosk. It has no moving parts to wear out, carries CE and FCC Class A approval, and Nexcom shows the Neu-X100 range as Microsoft Azure Certified.
