X102-N97 Overview
A self-service kiosk, bus stop sign or IoT gateway needs a small board with fast networking, a cellular or Wi-Fi option and enough graphics for two screens and a panel, all on a single 12 V supply. The X102-N97 is the Intel Processor N97 build in the Nexcom X102 series: a 3.5 inch SBC on Alder Lake-N with two 2.5GbE ports and three display outputs.
The Intel Processor N97 runs at up to 3.6 GHz with a 12 W TDP and Intel UHD graphics, which suits kiosk front ends, signage playback and gateway software with more headroom. One 260-pin DDR4-3200 non-ECC SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB. Two HDMI 1.4b outputs run at up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and an eDP interface drives a panel at up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz, with LVDS selected by jumper, so one board can drive a built-in screen and two monitors.
I/O covers two 2.5GbE ports on Intel i226-V controllers with wake on LAN, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports on the edge and three USB 2.0 internally, one RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 port with RI, 5 V or 12 V, 4 GPI and 4 GPO, and Realtek ALC888S audio with a 2 W speaker output. Storage is an M.2 2242 Key M socket with SATA and PCIe signals plus a SATA port with power, and a full-size mini-PCIe slot with a nano SIM slot takes Wi-Fi 6/6E or LTE modules. A TPM 2.0 chip and watchdog timer are onboard. The X102-N50 carries the Intel Processor N50 at up to 3.4 GHz and 6 W, and the X101-J3455-E is the earlier Celeron J3455 board.
Power is 12 V DC through a locking DC jack. The X102-N97 operates from 0 to 60 °C, stores from -20 to 80 °C and handles humidity up to 95%, non-condensing. The board measures 146 x 102 mm, Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 and Linux 4.1 and above are supported, and it carries CE marks under EN 55035 and EN 55032 and an FCC Class A mark under Part 15B.
