Sintrones VBOX-3630RP-M12X Intel Tiger Lake Core i7/i5 Railway Computer with 4x M12 PoE and Isolated 24-110V DC Input

Onboard CCTV on a train needs cameras in every carriage, and each camera needs power. The Sintrones VBOX-3630RP-M12X supplies it from the computer itself: four M12 X-coded LAN ports with PoE share a 60 W budget, so each camera runs over one locking cable. It is the PoE build of the VBOX-3630R-M12X series, a railway computer with an isolated 24 to 110 V DC input and a design to EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25) requirements.

Sintrones offers PoE on this build with the Intel Core i7-1185G7E or Core i5-1145G7E only. Both have four cores and eight threads, with turbo up to 4.4 GHz on the i7 and 4.1 GHz on the i5, and Iris Xe graphics. TDP is 15 W, configurable from 12 W to 28 W, and two DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 64 GB. Four independent displays run from two HDMI 2.0b ports, a DisplayPort and a single-link DVI-D.

The PoE ports are one 2.5GbE and three GbE. Recorded video can sit on two 2.5″ SATA drives in RAID 0 or RAID 1, with M.2 2280 NVMe for the system. The VBOX-3630RP-M12X also has four RS-232/422/485 ports, six digital inputs and four digital outputs, two 12 V DC outputs, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0 ports, two M.2 Key B sockets with two SIM sockets for optional 5G or LTE, an M.2 Key E socket for optional Wi-Fi 6, and two mini PCIe slots for optional GPS or CAN. We supply it configured and tested, with drives, memory, the OS image and modems fitted.

Operating range is -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, with IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810G vibration ratings and a MIL-STD-810G shock rating. The aluminum case measures 365 x 165 x 55 mm, weighs 3.8 kg and wall-mounts, and an optional battery kit gives around 10 minutes of backup. Without PoE, the VBOX-3630R-M12X also offers the Core i3 and Celeron. For road vehicles, the VBOX-3630P-M12X brings M12 PoE to a 24 to 60 V DC input with E-Mark compliance.
