Vecow LE-1055 Intel X550-AT2 Dual-Port 10GBASE-T Wide-Temperature 10GbE LAN Expansion Card

Many sites already run copper Ethernet, and a system that needs more than Gigabit speed on those links needs a card that negotiates down as well as up. The LE-1055 is Vecow’s two-port 10GbE LAN card for that job, a standalone model with two 10GBASE-T RJ45 ports. We fit it to systems we build where a 10GbE uplink or a fast link to storage is part of the design.

Both RJ45 ports are driven by an Intel Ethernet Controller X550-AT2 and run at 10 Gbps, 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps or 100 Mbps. The host interface is PCI Express x4. The controller handles jumbo frames up to 9728 bytes and link aggregation, and it supports Wake-on-LAN, PXE boot and Intel Virtualization Technology for Connectivity (VT-c).

The card supports IEEE 1588 PTP and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, so several time-aligned streams can share one host on separate networks. It carries no PoE, so connected devices take their own power. Where fiber suits the run better, the FE-1071 carries two SFP+ ports, and where cameras need power on the cable, the PE-5002 adds IEEE 802.3at PoE+ to two 10GBASE-T ports. An active fan sits on the heat sink, and Vecow states the -40 to 55 °C operating range with the fan. Storage is -40 to 85 °C, at 5 to 95% humidity, non-condensing. Vecow offers low-profile and full-height forms, with a full-height bracket as standard and a low-profile bracket optional, and lists CE and FCC. The datasheet does not list operating system support.
